I hired Good Samaritan Cleaning Services to clean an empty trailer I was going to be moving into after reading good reviews online. The owner called me and we discussed that the trailer was empty and that I wanted to have everything cleaned except the carpet because that was going to be replaced. I told him I wanted the windows and window sills cleaned, the bathrooms cleaned, and the linoleum floors cleaned. He said no problem and that is would only cost $95 since there was no furiture that would have to be cleaned and it was pretty much straight forward.
I was living in a hotel and working full time as a nurse so I couldn't be there in person to supervise but I figured it would be ok to leave the door locked and it was also an empty trailer. I was called that night saying that they spent three hours there and that "the place looks great". I was exstatic thinking that they spent three hours in an empty trailer for only $95 and that the place must be sparkling from top to bottom! Well, that wasn't the case...
I arrived the next day to check out the place and see what was done before I submitted payment to them and when I arrived I was shocked to find that NOTHING has been cleaned. There was still dirt and dog hair on the linoluem, the bathrooms were still dirty, not even wiped down. There was even a film in one of the toilets showing that the toilet hadn't been flushed and especially not cleaned in a long time.
I immediatey texted the owner asking him what exactly was cleaned because I was standing in the place now and NOTHING has been done. He proceeded to call me and say that he was there himself and helped to clean and ensured me everything was cleaned and I said I'm looking at it right now and nothing was cleaned. He said he has pictures of everything that was cleaned yet failed to send me any of those pictures. He also proceeded to ask me if anyone else had been in the house overnight to which I told him no and even if someone had it wouldn't cause dirt to be spread throughout the house and bathrooms to become uncleaned. After arguing with me on the phone for several minutes he said he wanted to send someone out to look at it and make it right because customer service is their priority. He then called me back to say that someone was on their way to make it right.
I waited two hours to someone to show up and this was after I told him to forget it and that I would hire someone else and he insisted I spend no more money. When his employee showed up he stepped out of his car and had no cleaning supplies with him. I then told him just come in and look for yourself so you can tell your boss that I'm not making this up. I escorted him inside and showed him the dirt on the floor and the bathrooms not being cleaned. I asked him if he agreed that this place was never cleaned and he agreed. He said "yes ma'am I would say its not clean". Not once offering to make it right just staring at me. I then told him that I was going to clean it myself and to follow me to the gas station so I could pull out money to pay him so they would go away as they did not appear to be professional people and feared they would show back up in relatiation. I handed him the money and said tell your boss this isn't right that I am even paying you.
I texted the owner saying that his employee had been paid and that he shouldn't have even excepted my money and that it was bad business. He then proceeded to text me that I must be expecting new appliances or something....no actually, I never asked you to clean appliances at all, just a general cleaning. He then said I did the right thing by paying them and then threw out the religion card and that he was praying for me and to send my troubles up to god, etc. etc. and that the guy that showed up only agreed with me to be respectful....
I then went out and spent another $100 buying cleaning supplies and spent the next 5.5 hours cleaning the place.
These people took my money and took advantage of someone new to town that doesn't know any better. They should have never took my money and they should have sent someone to clean the place properly not some random guy with no cleaning company. So much for making it right...
