GOdaddy I was billed for one year for a service that I never ordered nor used. I had asked to extend a previous website building service...instead GoDaddy attached the service to a domain name I had been keeping but that I never have used...When I recently received another bill for the original domain site I was told I had access to the service on another domain name just because I never used it isn't our fault!! problem is I never ordered it !! I thought the service would be extended to my original site as it should have been.. As that was what I supposedly had paid for....Rather than correct this the Company tried to get me to pay more for services to the original site. I had to go to my Credit Card Company and file a complaint. Because they put the charge down as " service" I had no idea they were charging me for something not ordered. It will now be near impossible to get my money back nor a credit...The Company is non Customer service friendly ....makes terrible errors then blames the customer. Simply put a bunch of jerks ...Do not use them they are Trouble , incompetent and they will RIP YOU OFF ...Hopefully as there are other Companies out there that handle web building tools I will move all my business elsewhere and I suggest you do the same...Do not give GoDaddy permission to auto renew they will bill you for things you did not order and pretend that you ordered them....dot coms become .org .edu and .whatever dot they can make up to nickel and dime you without your knowledge. THEY WILL BILL YOU FOR THESE WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE.

tread very carefully with these guys they are thieves.

I contacted godaddy's legal team to remove an illegal website. They responded to tell me I needed a court order. I responded I had one, again, and emailed a copy. They didn't respond in a timely fashion, to only later tell me it was transferred out of the registrants name who was violating his order and who was comitting a crime using their website. They still refuse to remove the website. Poor customer service and illegal operations even with a court order in place! Don't use them! No ethics and don't care about protecting others or obeying the law. Shocked about how they handled this case! Beware of GoDaddy!

I have a yearly subscription to the GoDaddy Webuilder program which is used to create and maintain a website. The program has had consistent problems all along and it is difficult if not impossible to get GoDaddy to resolve the issues. The mobile website does not present properly; improperly highlights menu items; highlights menus options for pages other than the one you're on, etc. I have spent more than two months trying to get GoDaddy to resolve this issue. Throughout, I have been lied to, given wrong information, provided dead links to open repair tickets, repair tickets closed without being resolve, told the issue was resolved when it still remains and generally blown off with no resolution. Their technical service is deplorable and designed to run the customer around in circles.

The product sold does not provide the services GoDaddy claimed to provide, i.e. a properly functioning website. I have been more than patient but the presentation of my mobile website is unprofessional and no longer acceptable. GoDaddy refuses to provide a repair timeline and in essence after two months, is refusing to correct the problem. I have invested more than 100 hours in creating this website and have spent at least four hours on the phone over the past two months trying to resolve this issue. The services offered and paid for are not the services that I am currently receiving. I have paid for a properly operating website and I expect to receive a properly operating website, particular given the enormous amount of time I've spent in creating this website.

GoDaddy used to provide an email account with all domain name purchases. They no longer do. They now try to sell you on Office365 for $47.88/year. What a ripoff for people like me, who only need one email account associated with their domain.

They also don't tell you about this policy change up front. You find out afterward, when the only free option they give you now with the domain is 100 email forwards. That's completely useless, since you have to sign up for their $47.88/yr Office365 plan to even take advantage of the free forwards.

They still have and maintain videos all over the Internet instructing you on "how to set up your free email associated with your new domain"! That is very misleading and false advertising. I had a live chat with a Customer Service person named Shauna, who repeatedly apologized, but seemed more interested in getting me off the text window than offering solutions. I let her know that I'll be purchasing my domains elsewhere from now on, and she apologized again and asked if there was anything else she could help me with.

Way to lose customers GoDaddy.

GoDaddy took my site down when I pay for hosting, wed design and google adds. When I questioned them, they said I did not renew my services. I said one is prepaid on one till 2018 and the other till April 2015. Then they said they had to change the IP address. It was to propagate in hours and they failed and never corrected this issue. GoDaddy said they are required to tell me it is propagating, never did so I did not know to even check. They have the arrogance to tell my they have performed as they should while my sit was down. That meaning that taking money for a wed site to host, design and advertise without your web site is their service guarantee. The Manager San was very rude and unhelpful.

Go Daddy pushes selling over service, the issue is they don't give you a credit if you find you do not want a product. I cancelled product earlier and could not get a credit without calling and complaining. Then they will not give you a refund, just a 'Store Credit' that stays forever unless you cancel all accounts. I probably need to push up again - but I do not hold out much hope. Basic list of offenses - just going for highlights - Sold Hosting, could not FTP, then could not access root, would not connect domain to Hosting, then got website builder and could not get store (Sold an ecommerce store), sold store, could not use domain on store without keeping website builder to get it to redirect to store, penalty to do anyting or cancel anything. Latest was the First Data cancelation - actually tried to make argument that $75 cancellation fee was worse that $40 a month on a no actvity account. Then would not cancel charge for month without reopening and recharging cancellation (well maybe they wouldn't - but would be in a new month by time it processed) - so "F" you - pay for cancelled month and a cancellation fee.

Horrible experience, hundreds of dollars in fees and punishment for ignorance - I am not a webmaster, but I have learned the hard and expensive way - but go to Weebly or WIX to do a website - GoDaddy should only be used to register domains - at least for small businesses. If you like to piss money away for no reason - they are good for that also.

I got online notice of domain renewal fee of $14.99 .. Actually, with an $.18 fee, it cost me, for a 1-yr. renewal $15.17 .

Within 5 minutes of renewing, I opened an email offering me, as a "best customer" a 35% discount for the renewal. I called within the 5 minutes and they said that since I had already renewed, the discount would not apply. They offer new domain registrations for %8.99

Although other registrars charges less than $10 for renewals, I opted to renew with GoDaddy in order to maintain an account for future use. Of course, I never expect to ever do more business with them and will transfer the domain prior to its next expiration.

I have received numerous notices stating that one of my services was about to expire and offering easy renewal. However, when I view my account, the actual renewal date is over a year away.

NO EASY REFUNDS FROM GODADDY AFTER CANCELLATION

GoDaddy automates everything when you want to buy their products like domain names.

Except after you cancel an item and wish to get a refund.

Not only cancelling is not enough to get an automatic refund,

you have to ask for a refund explicitely for one and every items that were cancelled.

And the only way to ask for a refund is to call on the phone.

There is no service by email, no request for refunds possible through their websites.

One needs to call on the phone to get a refund on any cancelled items.

And once you call the general support number, wait... wait... wait....

then they will bounce you around to yet another number that you have to call, wait.... wait... wait...

An honest business refunds you automatically along their guidelines without asking after cancellation.

Try Namesilo.com for example. You get a refund within minutes if not seconds !!

Refunds are automated. No need to waste your time on the phone.

Here is the GoDaddy refund policy in case you are interested in many fine prints:

http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/8849/refund-policy

Once on the phone, make sure to quote from their own information on the website or contract,

because they won't make it easy for you.

The first customer representative I talked to to get a refund told me that refunds were only after 5 days,

yet that web page says something quite different: up to 45 days in some cases, and store credits after that.

My advise: don't bother with GoDaddy, there are plenty of other domain names providers.

I am transferring all my domains out of there, just to avoid future assles.

You are smart, do the right thing: give your money to honest businesses.

Best of luck to you

On Saturday, 4 days ago, we went onto GoDaddy.com's "who is" and did a search on a three domain names. They weren't general names, premium names, short names, or anything special. Just three regular URLs.

Today, Wednesday, we go in to purchase webservices for those domain names from GoDaddy and discover that all three names have been snatched up. Guess who snatched them up? GoDaddy.com

They are now offering to sell them for $800 each via their auction process.

Is this legal? Yes. Is it the end of the world? No. But, I consider it to be very unethical. The typical thing you'll hear is "You snooze, you lose." But, we didn't snooze. We didn't tell anyone these names. We didn't call GoDaddy or ask that the names be reserved or anything. We just did a simple search. They simply monitor their whois search engine and snatch up any name they think the person is serious about. Then, they put it up for auction.

I have 7 other websites with GoDaddy. I looked those names up right before ordering them. They all have good traffic. And, tomorrow, I will move them out of Godaddy.com control. I don't like dealing with unethical idiots.

If you want to find out if a domain name is available, don't use GoDaddy's Domain Availability Service. They will legally 'steal' the name out from under you and then legally try to 'extort' an exhorbitant price for them.

Buy Beware!

"I purchased the Godaddy.com Online Bookeeping service online. Upon purchasing the product I chose the

annual subscription service. In the checkout process the service was originally $99.99, however the service at the

moment of checkout was discounted to $4.80. Thinking this may have been a glitch in their system I closed the

website three times and restarted the order, in which I had the same results. I eventually thought this may be a

special they were having, and so I placed the order.

After placing the order while at work, a couple of days later when I had free time to speak with a representative I called in to renew my domain and to question the charge of this Online Bookeeping service. The representative I spoke with confirmed the purchase that I made was for the yearly subscription and that it only cost me $4.80. I asked the representative was this okay and do I owe any more money. The representative said that he does not know how this could have happened, and how it could have been discounted that low, but everything was good on the account and it stated that I will have the service for the year for $4.80. I continued to ask the representative was he sure, and he became frustrated with me keep asking this that he said in his own words, ""I would not complain if I was you."" I told him that I am not complaining I just do not want any problems down the line. I noticed that the Online Bookeeping service that I was supposed to have for a year has expired.

I called customer service, where I was told there was pretty much nothing that can be done about this, and going forward I have to pay more to continue the service. I informed them of the verbal confirmation I received from the previous representative, and asked them to pull the call. The supervisor I spoke with today stated that he cannot compensate for the error that his previous representative made. I was promised a service at a certain price and this agreement should be honored.

I should not have to pay anything extra for a service I made very clear was completely paid for already. The GoDaddy.com company does not want to take accountability for the miscommunications and misrepresentations of their employees. As an honest consumer of their products, I should not be treated with such disregard. I told them I had the money to pay for the service at the time I called and asked was there a problem, however I do not have the money to pay for the service now, nor should I have to compensate for their error.

I literally told the representative to charge me more for the service, but he refused saying that my account was okay and I don't owe anything more. This service should be honored at the price quoted, as a representative of your company, accessing and making changes on customer accounts is essentially empowered to make agreements on behalf of your company. I think this is a rip-off, and the company wants their customers to pay for the mistakes they make when their system has a glitch or error in it.
