Paid for multiple email accounts. Serious tecnical issues have occured multiple times in the past few months. When I call they are always working on resolving the issue. They tell me that the email service I have is known to not work well so they want to upsell me to an email with calendar account that is significantly higher in price. Today I was told they no longer sell the service because it is so bad. I spoke with a supervisor who told me pretty much the same. He could not give me the new plateform for my emails at no charge, which I believe they should. All I want is reliable email with my domain name. I have had many free email accounts over the years with no problems so I don't understand how the one I am paying for is so bad. I seriously believe this is a scam and am VERY disappointed with GoDaddy. I will be moving all of my services from them as soon as I am able to.
I bought a domain from Godaddy to use for the weblog which me and a friend of mine are publishing together. My friend bought one of those Visa prepaid cards and we used it to buy the domain.
We were then contacted by Godaddy asking us to show the photo ID of the person owning the payment method. I explained a few times that this is a pre-paid Visa and the name on the card is just "CARD HOLDER". But they insisted on seeing our photo ID. So I sent them the copy of my passport.
This time they came back saying that my passport is from Iran and they dont deal with Iran. I explained that I dont live in Iran and this is not dealing with Iran. They said I need to show them hte proof of my permanent residency somewhere else (which I dont have because I'm not still the permanent resince in any country).
So they canceled my request and released the domain I'd bought for public to buy; but didnt return my money back. I've contacted a few times ever since and they just dont answer any of my emails.
From my point of view it's an obvious kind of cyber-bullying. They stole my money just because I'm from Iran and I can't lodge a formal complaint against them.
Godaddy just canceled one of my domains which was up for auto renew even though my credit card onfile is good. They never called or emailed to let me know they were canceling it and all the sudden today, I received an Email from them saying it was canceled.
I spoke to support for a while and they couldn't figure it out. They said they left me 3 voice messages which I never got and Emailed me cancellation notices which I never got. Even though I receive everything else from them, including a notice last month stating that the domain would be automatically renewed.
Support did say that they use different servers and that some are blocked by AOL so maybe I didn’t get their cancellation Email and that the voice messages are computer generated and don't always leave the message correctly.
Also, the credit card on file is my Amex which I have not had any problems with but the guy said sometimes when they charge Amex they have problems. That is not my problem or fault. Regardless they should have called or Emailed me to let me know this.
Bottom line, I caught it in time but they still wacked me 90 bucks for a ".COM redemption fee".
This is not fair and I will be reporting this to every agency and bogging it everywhere.
I just got off the phone with a Supervisor in billing at Go Daddy. They automatically charged my credit card for an auto renewal. I haven't used the domain names they are charging me for almost two years. The supervisor said they CAN NOT issue a credit that it was my responsibility to have answered their emails to cancel their service and they only allow FIVE days to cancel.
I will probably have to end up paying the $56.68 to the jerks but I do think they are ripping consumers off by refusing to credit our accounts when it is obvious we have not used their service.
The Supervisor told me to do whatever I wanted to do to try to dispute the charges including contacting the Better Business Bureau if I wanted to do that....which I will. Consumers ought to know what kind of a business they are getting involved with before signing up with them.
I wonder how much revenue they earn off these autorenewals they do not provide service for....yet another company scamming folks!
