Basically it works like this: Gordon O. Lee, is a H.U.D. 203k loan consultant, The Consultant’s role is to review and verify the accuracy of the contractor’s estimates and ensure that all required repairs are completed. They do not make a decision about which repairs should or should not be made. The Consultant’s first task during the loan process is to perform an initial property inspection. If the homeowner is unfamiliar with repairs required by FHA guidelines, they should involve the Consultant as soon as possible. If the borrower has a good grasp of what is needed, the Consultant can be brought in after the contractor has submitted bid(s). The Consultant is also responsible for obtaining signed Lien Waivers during draw inspections, to be sure that sub-contractors have been compensated correctly and to protect the homeowner from mechanic’s liens. If you are not happy with the quality of the work, the Consultant will request that the contractor correct any issue prior to payment. Gordon recommends GMC Resource group or Reliable Handyman, which are owned by a man named William (Bill) Murillo Jr., Gordon and Bill are partners, Bill pays Gordon via check for a service. Gordon shares the same office suite as Bill Murillo Jr. as GMC Resource Group llc. & Reliable handyman, Gordon O. Lee pulls permits under GMC resource group name, which is a direct conflict of interest. I can assure you that these two guys only interest is to line their pockets with your money. Bill Murillo will estimate the job, then he and Gordon will the job the they will add on average at least 50% mark-up on the initial estimate to the client. (So if the estimate is 30k you will be charged 45k most of the time it’s more) Remember Gordon is supposed to be looking out for the bank and the loan client to make sure the contractor is giving a fair price for quality work. GMC Resource group has no direct employees other than Bill Murillo, all the supposed contractors are 1099 employees, and I have met only one that actually has there own insurance & license to do work and he was an ac tech. Gordon approves the contractors bid, he inspects the contractors work, and approves the work, and then the bank pays a draw to the contractor, namely GMC resource group AKA: Bill Murillo Jr. and in turn receives a payment from Mr. Murillo Jr. Please do your due diligence when dealing with these two con artist at best, criminals none the least, don’t be fooled by the I’m a patriot, ex-military banter the guys spew as gospel, they are trying to make you comfortable then they will milk you. I have put in calls to the HUD Inspector General, a review of Mr. Lee and a call into the state attorney general for Mr. Murillo & Mr. Lee.

Beware of this company!

After dealing with Bill Murillo and Gordon Lee for an extended period of time I have no doubt that the review above, which details the shady partnership between these two individuals, is absolutely correct. My words cannot adequately convey the terrible experience that my family has endured during our construction project which is being completed by a company under the financial backing of GMC Resource Group. Coincidentally, it was Gordon Lee himself who recommended we use this particular company for our work! Quite honestly, our experience with these individuals has been disturbing. The lies and manipulation abound and it is abundantly clear that they have no concern for quality work. I too will be contacting the HUD Inspector General, along with the BBB, our banks validation department and literally anyone else who'll listen! Consumers beware and steer clear of any business dealings with GMC Resource Group and any of their associates.

Run from this company

Bill Murillo quoted me a price to do a simple job. He then sent me the bill with mathematical errors, Lack of description and pictures promised and no supporting documentation or receipts. The job ended up taking over 5 hrs for what should have been a 2hr to 3hr job. His quote was for $99 for replacing a 32 inch door. He then billed me $480. Which is over 2x the price that the home improvement stores will charge you for the same job. I wrote him a professional email asking about the discrepancies and requesting we speak to work out a more realistic agreement. He flipped out in email and tried strong arm tactics saying he would only discuss in person and I will pay in full at our meeting. He then goes back to and refers to how much cheaper his quote was than his competitors at $99. He continued to brag in email that he was the cheapest quote even after sending me a bill for close to $500. I am also going to open a complaint with the BBB. I have a lot of experience with contractors, and have never had this bad an experience with a contractor.
