Global Vacation Network Reviews

I was invited to attend a presentation for a new travel agent in town in exchange for some free travel vouchers. I sat through their slimy sales pitch which wasn't even about a travel agent anyway, but travel software. They wouldn't let me look at the software so that I could compare prices with other similar programs. I declined to buy and the sales manager got very mad that I wanted to leave with my gifts. Nevertheless, I was able to finally go. You have to go through so many steps trying to redeem these "gifts" and they are so confusing, even for a young professional! My "free" hotel trip was going to end up costing me more than if I booked through Expedia. I never could get them to deliver on the free airfare. I called to talked to them about the hotel, but they refused to acknowledge the pricing was bad, and continued trying to convince me it was a deal. I have certainly learned my lesson the hard way when it comes to these sales pitches. This is my third time around the block. I'm done with this stuff altogether.

Intially I came along with friend for a presentation for a vacation travel services ( Global Vacation Network) to receive a free trip to Mexico with no obligation. At the end of the presentation I was scammed in to a contract. I never received the free trip to Mexico. When I tried to cancel the contract, Global Vacations network advised me that I had 3 days after signing the contract to cancel. Since 2009 I have been making payments but have never used Global Vacations Network services. I would like to cancel my contract and receive a refund of all moneys paid.

My husband and I were invited by mail to attend a meeting and in return receive two round trip airline tickets anywhere in the continental US. We drove 120 miles round trip to sit through a three hour sales pitch. At the end we got the real picture. We were to write them a check for twelve thousand dollars minimum immediately in order to be a member of their travel club. I can't believe anyone has that kind of money in his or her checking account. Also, how could anyone be so gullible as to think these people should not be checked out before paying them that amount of money? Although the sales people were smooth and well-rehearsed, we were flabbergasted that they could be trying to steal so much so quickly. We were told to wait for our free round trip ickets to arrive in the mail, but two months later, surprise, they haven't come. Ya think.

Beware of this GVN company in Palm Harbor, Florida. First, you are invited (zeroed in on because of your income) to take part in a consumer test of an android, which is actually a ruse to get you to sit through a lengthy presentation on a travel club. After an hour of that, you are led to waiting sales people who pressure sell for the next hour about the "wonderful" savings...after that you are zeroed in on by this slimy, grease ball CLOSER who continues the high pressure tactics. ONLY after all that, you are finally given a certificate which you have to call or apply online for the android....then you WAIT and WAIT and WAIT. Come to find out there are several more hoops to jump through that you are not told about...THEN after two months and my own persistence I finally received the android with NO name or manufacturer listed. It is a piece of junk which is incorrectly configured or programed to pick up the internet connections through wifi. TOTAL waste of time AND to top that off, the slimy salesman with a big wedding ring and spoke about his 7 children thought it would be appropriate to hit on me and say I should take him on a vacation. HE WAS ABSOLUTELY serious...insanely inappropriate and GROSS. The impression I was left with is this organization is comprised of shifty sales people, trained in high pressure sales and big, fake smiles that hide their lies. My recommendation is to avoid these grifters who blew in to town...they are predators looking for their next meal. ALL smoke and mirrors with creepy, greasy personality sales people. DON'T waste your time.

On Thursday March the 27th, I have been contacted at home by one of Global Vacation Network (GVN) representatives who introduced herself as Rachel. She told me that I have won an a vacation package that provides two adults with roundtrip airfare to Acapulco, Los Cabos, Cancun, or Cozumel in Mexico. The vacation is for 4days and 3 nights all inclusive deluxe accommodations for two adults at a park royal resort. All meals, drink (including alcohol), activities, and entertainment are included. also shuttle transportation provided. Most importantly, I was promised that I will walk out of that meeting with the vacation Package in my hand. All that will be given to us (my wife and I) if we just agree to attend a presentation that is 90 minutes long.

Usually I don't buy into those kinds of deals very easily, but after talking to Rachel and her boss on the phone for almost half hour and after hearing all kinds of assurances and promises that there are no trickes involved and this is as legitimate as it could get, I said to myself ""Well, it could be my lucky day, maybe I won something after all"". So I accepted the invitation and set up an appointment for Saturday March the 29th since I was told that Saturday was the last day of the offer and because I agreed to schedule an appointment on such a short notice she told me that I also won a $40 gas voucher that is valid to be used at any major gas station immediatly.

After I hang up the phone I spent about an hour trying to convince my wife to go. Finally my wife decided to go after having to cancel some family plans for the weekend.

So we drove all the way from Battle creek, MI to Grand Rapids, Mi which is 1.5 hour drive using the only 10 gallons of gas that we have for the week because I'm a college student, unemployed, and we are on a budget.

we got there, we filled out a survy then we waited for 25 minutes until the presentation started which was over after 45 minutes later. After that they took evrybody into a big office and a representative was assigned for each couple to get them to sign up on some vacation deals that cost only $96. After listening to the lady for about 10 minute, I asked her "" are we going to get the $40 gas voucher today?"" and the answer was that there is no such a thing, then I said ""what about the vacation package?"" she said oh yah, you will get that in about 4 to 6 weeks in the mail.

After a long argument we left feeling stupid and feeling that we have been cheated. On the top of that we wasted the gas that we had for the whole week and we also wasted alot of time and effort, and the most upsetting thing of all is the fact that I was the only one who's being upset about this whole scheme, at least I was the only one who's willing to show that I'm angry about this. In fact there were people actually signing up on the program after they have been already lied to.

I have already filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, now this, and there will be more action to follow, if Rippoff Report can help in that regard I will be most appreciative.
