I contacted Global Crossroad to volunteer in Nepal. They placed me for a four-week stay in August, 2015; and then sent a bill for the deposit, insurance, and culture classes. I paid it immediately, but soon a family situation arose, and I was unable to go.
I requested a refund on March 10, 2015. I received a reply stating that I would receive a refund for $250, the price of the culture class.
After trying to contact them several times, through various persons working at Global Crossroad, I am still waiting for not only a refund, but any sort of reply from support. I do, however, receive plenty of smart-mouth, borderline replies from a person in customer service/information.
I want a refund for the culture class and the insurance. These items would not have been paid so early, and, a person there did state I would receive the refund for the culture class.
I do understand I lost my deposit, and I accept that, even though it is a great deal of money to lose.
Why won't anyone in this company, who is able to help, do so? The person in information seems to put all the blame on me, but it seems she could help rather than imply in every email that I am a nuisance.
This company might be find for arranging volunteer work, if nothing goes wrong, if you never need your money back. At this point, however, I strongly suggest staying away from them.
