Cricket changed their format to CDMA phones. they never told any of its thousands of customers that they would be doing this until a month or two before it was to take place. i had a line with cricket for years. they said i had to buy a new for the new network or my cell phone would no longer work. i purchased the new phone as well as another phone for my kid. i was charged for activating 2 lines. i was told it was a new customer fee because the network would be changed to the new format of phones. i paid my activation fee when i 1st joined cricket. as well as every single time i replaced a ohoen. whther it was an upgrade or replacement. i chatted online today 3/27/2015 to ask why when i buy my phone i am charged an activation fee? the following is a copy of the chat with cricket customer care...

On July 11, 2014 I received an text telling me that I needed to pay 123.60 on my account. I called YBuy customer service and spoke to someone regarding my account. I was told that I needed to pay my bill by credit/debit card.
I explained to them that I have my account setup for it to take the money directly out of my account on 10th and 25th of every month. They stated to me that payment would be cancelled and to pay with my card.
I also asked them why the bill was $123.60. The rep stated the bill was from a charge of my 6/25 payment that was returned from the bank. So it was 46.80 for 6/25, 46.80 7/10, 25.00 returned check charge and 5.00 late fee. I understood that with no problem.
I also explained that rep at the cricket store homewwod branch which is now closed stated that my first payment was not due til 7/10 and that I was misinform by the worker.
On 7/12 I received a text from my bank informing me that I was 123.60 short in my account. So I went online to check my bank account that when I discovered that YBuy took 2 payments from me 1) pos 123.60 and dir 123.60.
I called them right away and informed them of what was happening and was told that they would cancel that charge and for me to call my bank and have them to release those funds.
On 7/14 I charged again for another 46.80 I called YBuy again to let them know and They told that I had not paid my 7/10 payment. I explained the rep it was included in the 123.60.
I also had to explained to them that they still have an extra 123.60 and it will cause an overdraft in my account. They told me that I would need to fax a letter from my bank stating the charges and they would repay me.
on 7/16 I went to my bank and was informed by the bank that my account was -244.00 because of the 123.60 that YBUY took from my account. I had them fax the letter and my bank statement to them.
on 7/18 I called them to make sure they received the fax. They claimed they did, However I would have to wait 3-5 days for them to repond and 7-10 days and I would receive a paper check. Why should I have to wait 15 days to get my money bank.
When they took it out of my account they should able to put it back in my account the same way. So needless so say I'm up the creek because I have to wait on them.
On 7/24 I get a letter from my bank stating I owe 343.00 because the result of Ybuy's mistake. I called them again and I was only getting back 174.00 from the fax that the bank sent on 7/16.
I told this crazya** man to put a supervisor on the damn phone because enough is enough. I was told once again I would have to send another fax them regarding these charges. I called my bank regarding this again and was told to file a complain with Card Services and to call BBB.
I'm a single Mom trying to raise two daughters I don't have 343.00 to pay my bank. But since I have direct deposit from my job. My paycheck on 7/25 is gone as result of this mistake.
As I explained to the last supervisor I spoke to not only should I recieved my money back. I should also get my phone for free and three months of free cricket service. Of course I know I won't get it.
This cell phone company is a sham and they rob their customers and they also lie to the customer face. They promised me the internet share on my phone and took my money and then they removed it from service the day after. They then told me after I complained that the service they never had and that I was paying for a service that I didn't ask for. The prices went service. I called customer service and they have no clue as to what to do or have any idea what to do. Im still paying for service that they say is coming back. Also gave no warning of name change.
