After sitting through the Global Connections presentation, my friend and I were assigned to Jason and Triva for the sales pitch. I went to this presentation with a trip already in mind. I had a general date and area already selected for my next vacation and a list of questions in case I decided to follow through with this company.
Jason and I moved to a seperate computer where he showed me the resort available in Maui for my travel dates. There were many accomadations available and according to the contract if I called 120 days prior I shouldn't have any trouble booking. The amount of money I would be able to save was significant!
Part of the presentation was also that this package could be passed down in your family. I asked Jason and Triva what had to be done for that to happen. I was told it had to be put in my will.
Seeing how much I could save and knowing it could be used for my daughter and her future family, my friend and I bought a package.
Six weeks later, when my daughter was home from college, we solidified our vacation plans. I went on-line to book our Maui trip just to find out I couldn't! I contacted the reservation's agent and I was told I could no longer book at the resort I had selected. I still had more than 5 months before the trip. What was going on?
Needless to say, I have contacted Kathleen, the manager of the operation managers. Her solution was that she would help me book my trip for NEXT year. Now she refuses my calls. Unfortunately, everyone I can contact leads back to her. No one, including Kathleen can answer how this package can be passed to my daughter. I have filed a claim with my credit card company and the BBB.
This company is good at fraudulent statements, does not value customer relations, and simply takes your money without remorse. BEWARE!!
This company started out promising lower rates due to their ability to get volume from travel agents. I should have known there was a problem when only three of us had to wait half an hour past the scheduled appointment time. We were all ready to walk out and then they came out.
I was told I would get air vouchers for two free tickets in the U.S. Did not get them. Tried to call the office in Gurnee that I signed up with after caling and calling and got a not in service message. So I drove over to find a "for lease" sign on the building. Was able to track them down in Lombard. I asked why the building was closed and was told they were doing "remodeling". Then why didn't it say that I told the rep.
I booked a cruise to Alaska in July for September. I thought the rate seemed high so I called Norwegian directly and they offered the same exact rate that this supposed discounted rate from Global.
I told the cruise arranger, Dallas how could this be? His comment was did it include the taxes? Yes I told him. Like THAT would have made a difference.
They mis-represented themselves and I have heard from friends that they new this was a crooked outfit.
Do not use them.... run far away. I am going to cancel even tho it is past the three days you are allowed. If I had booked a trip three days from siging up then I would have cancelled immediatly. How was I to know until I booked a trip. If they give me a hard time I will sit in front of the building and tell eveyone going in, to stay away.
After going to a presentation at one of their local offices( Illinois ) we were presented with a presentation on a Vacation Club. It sounded reasonable but we already owned a timeshare. After the sales rep tried to sell us the club they of course lowered the price and brought over a manager. When telling them we had a timeshare we went into managers office and he said that they would direct us to this company that could sell our timeshare for at least what the club would cost and it would be four to six months. We thought if the timeshare would be sold it was a good deal. So we bought and they gave us the name of the company that would list the timeshare. We called them and they charged $299.00 which we paid because we again were told the timeshare would sell in four to six months. That was all contracted at the end of 2012 and the beginning of 2013. As of today the timeshare is still listed along with other timeshares where we own. I contacted States Attorney in Kansas but they said they could not help sincew it was a contract and we would need a private attorney to move forward.
