The salesman at the dealer told him that the monthly payment would be 400 dollars, or else they would return his car. When my father got the statement from Toyota Financial, it was 549 dollars. My father is 58 years old, has diabetes, and has difficulty understanding English documents, and the car dealer did not give my father any copies of the documents he signed. I went today and they told me that the documents would be given on Monday, since they said the office was closed today. They also told my father on the day of the transaction that he could take the car home and if the monthly payment wasn't 400 dollars, they would give him his car back. Today we went and asked about his car, but the finance manager said his old car is gone. The reason they gave as to the higher payment was because he has no credit history, so the banks gave him a higher APR.
