I using their "easy pay" pre payment plan, I paid the $99. amount that was promised by the company to be payment in full. I verified this directly with the lab before taking the lab test.
The next month I received a bill for $1350. I nearly fainted. The bill listed various deductions from the "price" of $2500.- my "deposit", the insurance payment and insurance discount, leaving the balance of $1350.
I called Genova saying the bill must be an error. The representative insisted it wasn't then explained, as a previous complainer said, that they would bill again in 21 days, if it wasn't paid, then cease to send bills and would not submit it to a collection agency. In other words, they would attempt to rip you off for money you do not owe. Needless to say, I did not pay that bill.
Came home from work tonight to find over $4000 of bills from Genova! I am completely shocked. I had 3 tests done by them, two were $99 and one was $149. When my health care provider gave me the kits I was told, "we checked with your insurance already and this is your charge for these tests"..with the amt written in on the form. I thought that was the fee? Please explain how you know they will not send to collections. Our credit is perfect, however I under no uncertain terms will pay this bill!
