In the state of Florida, if you are in an accident and it was not your fault you are entitled to file a claim for Diminished Value. Unfortunately, Geico does not recognize this fact and ignored timely attempts to correspond with them regarding this type of claim. They finally sent me a letter recognizing the claim and denied it, even though it was a worthy claim, stating that, "their position was firm and they were prepared to defend our insured if necessary." They do not even acknowledge that they were my insurance company at the time. I went to state farm due to the poor handling of my claim at the time of this accident. They refused to have my car fixed at BMW as requested. Instead they made me get the repairs at a local chop shop. Of course they can offer low rates and advertise frequently with crazy commercials, look how much they can save in claims!!! My car was clearly a diminished value claim that went unclaimed. Shame on Geico and other insurance companies that turn your back on this, costing their customers and the claimant s billions of dollars in the US. It is not BBB accredited, no wonder.
Geico insurance keeps telling my home lender they cannot get into our property to inspect our property for homeowner insurance. They say it is a gated community. Wrong! I live out the the coutryside, there are no gated communities anywhere closeby! The insurance company we go through geico (Geico is a broker) cancels our insurance saying they cannot inspect it! They can drive up any time, no gate or fences we are in the middle of Oregon, just a long dirt driveway with our name a sign on the little road in front (there is a town museum across the street). Everytime I tell them to call and talk to us, the insurance company just say they cannot let me talk to the people who are supposedly coming and will not tell me when they are coming, but they are suppsoe to call before they come here! This circus has been going on for several months! Gecio is incompetent, rude, nasty and a huge PIA ! I gave them enough chances! Total incompetence!
