I did four hours work for these guys and had traveled 60 miles to get to the site. Claimed I didn't do anything and have not been paid for my four hours. If you're a technician, you're taking a chance working for these guys. If you're a customer looking for someone to fix your computer, there are better sites to get help.
Do NOT use Geeks on repair!! They charged us $150 to "fix" our computer over the phone, then they said we needed to update our RAM, so we ordered a new one and when it arrived, they said to call them to set up a date and time for a technician to come to our office to install it. I called the guy when it got here and he told me he would check the schedule and call me back to confirm an appointment. He never called back. In the meantime, I called a REAL local expert and she installed the RAM for us and got our computer running great. A day later, some guy came in a raggedy car, with duct tape holding the trunk of his car shut, and he obviously hadn't had a bath in days. He told me he was from Geeks on Repair and had an appointment to fix our computer. I told him we had it fixed, and that the man I spoke with on the phone never called me back. He called "George", and I got on the phone with him and explained the situation. He immediately became rude and unprofessional telling me I had confirmed an appointment for a tech to arrive between 10:00 and 12:00 and I needed to pay a $30 cancellation fee. I said, "There's nothing to cancel because I never scheduled anything!" I asked the tech that showed up where "George" was? Get this, he said "I don't know." REALLY???? Don't use these people!!
They promised a time window, which they did not fill and the person came the next day, he was totally unqualified, offered to put in a network for me and told me he was an independent contractor not working for Geeks on Repair. He put in a product that was not compatible with windows 8 and then blamed me for not getting a laptop that was windows 7. He rambled on about his personal life, and listened in on my business and personal conversations. Long story short, Network only works on Macs, Have a limited use for what he did, He admitted to us that he has no formal training with computers and he had to come back four times only to leave the job undone. He told me in e-mails that he is now in therapy because of me as I told him i was unhappy with the job!! What kind of lunatic did they send me and where did they get him?? What a ripoff.
I spoke with a man named Jimmy from Geeks on Repair and was quoted dif prices, then charged dif price at last minute, He meaning Jimmy was to try and fix my computer with me at first. T
This didnt work. Then he said hed work on it from his end. That didnt work.
I tried about 3x to reach Geeks in a span of a week, their phone had a recording saying that number was not expecting calls.
I went on line on my phone, found their 866 numb., called and was.told by Jimmy, oh didnt a repair tech come?? Nope I said, oh ill get you service.
Another 3 days goes by, phone number no good AGAIN!!
Then on Dec. 30 I had a repair Tech at my door, i didnt even knowwas coming. He fixed my laptop, but it took him longer than expected, Geeks wanted 99.00 more dollars sent to Pay pal. Whenbi refused he yelled at me and the innocent tech. Contracted.
I will contact Pay Pal, and my Discover card and stop.pmt. I should have researched this co.
We had a wonderful experience with them, not sure why or how these few people had bad experiences. Geeks On Repair lets it's technicians collect money directly from their customers after services have been rendered, so not sure what this claim of them not paying techs is all about.
You can read their "terms and conditions " page they give all techs who work for them by clicking on this link, you will see that they give all the techs the option , if they choose , to collect money upfront.

Geeks On Repair also uploads actual customer phone call recordings to their testimonials page on their website, so these claims of Geeks On Repair being a scam or a bad company are completely unfounded and more then likely are written by their competition to degrade Geeks On Repair as a company.
What Geeks On Repair does is call a customer after service and ask the customer to rate their service on a scale of 1 to 10 and ask if they would recommend their service to others amongst a few other questions. With the customers permission, they then upload that phone call recording to the testimonials page on their website. Here is the link to Geeks On Repair testimonial page.

Not a scam
I agree , they were able to fix both our Mac computer and our PC at the same time and very efficiently
