GayRVA.com is supposedly a GLBT (gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, transgender) publication based in Richmond, Virginia. The editor is Brad Kutner. My complaint is regarding the vitriolic, hateful, viscious and petty manner in which they review artists, musicians and entertainers that are either performing in Richmond or have sent them a sample of their work (CD, Album, Video/MP3 Link, etc) for review.
Although they primarily write scathing and obnoxious reviews about local artists, from time to time they will attack a major artist as they did in 2013 with Tim Wellington's writeup about Cyndi Lauper. Ms. Lauper happens to be a highly respected performer and icon in the GLBT community but instead of focusing on her contributions to the music industry and gay community in particular, they instead chose to focus on her age and how she's too old and doesn't appeal to the cool and hip gay crowd of today.
Here's a quote directly from their publication which upset so many readers they ended up having to issue an apology.
"I realize the music industry is short on rabid Lauper-like success stories these days, but I’m pretty tired of seeing music legends rolled out on stage only to remind the audience of how old they’ve become. (see David Bowie, Neil Young, and Bob Dylan) Maybe she could have gotten some more current artists to tour with her and she plays the role of MC? I have no doubt Lauper can still sell an 1500 person venue, but why?
I might be showing my age (as in not old enough to appreciate it) but let’s move on from these 80′s retro tours and get something or someone contemporary on stage… please." Tim Wellington / Writer for GayRVA.com

Additionally, GayRVA.com exagerates their stats on facebook and twitter so they can overcharge clients for advertising.
I personally will not knowkingly patronize any business that advertises with GayRVA.com
