Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center Reviews
May 13, 2014
This was by far the worst travel experience we'd ever had, and we've been around the world. Do NOT book this hotel if there is any chance you may have to change your reservation.
We missed the first night of our vacation due to tornadoes in Dallas cancelling all flights and they cancelled our whole reservation and WOULD NOT REFUND OUR MONEY OR ALLOW US TO STAY FOR OUR RESERVATION.
Unfortunately our flight was delayed coming into Nashville and we had to take the plane out the next day. We booked this room through a third party (Orbitz) and contacted them to tell them we would miss the first night of our 4 night stay. We also called the Gaylord resort, but they directed us to talk only to Orbitz.
We called to verify the next day to find out they cancelled our reservation. Not only did they cancel our reservation, they would not refund any of our money for the remaining 3 nights, AND they wouldn't let us stay at the hotel, which is what we really wanted.
I was on the phone with them for HOURS trying to get someone to have a reasonable response, to no avail. I was told that if I wanted to speak to a manager I could call ""Mr. Marriott"".
I will never stay at a Marriott resort again. They took my money and refused to let me stay at their hotel, as far as I'm concerned they stole our money. I was hoping to get some friendly southern hospitality when I got to Nashville, but at least at this resort, nothing but greed.
