Do not rent from these individuals. (gary and debbie davis apartment location 1004 primos ave secane pa 19018) you will regret the day you signed the lease... my wife and i needed to down size in 2010, and we were refered to these scumbags by a friend who was leaving by short notice... we did a walk thru of the apartment and was totaly blown away by the living surroundings. At that time we were out of options as far as apartments that would accomidate a family of 4 and a pet ( believe me, we tried). We were to meet at the apt to sign the lease and give the 1st, last and deposit. Once someone moves out, you finally see every aspect of the place and it was just a Dump, Period. There were torn and ripped rugs in every bedroom. In one of the kids room they had a dropp ceiling literally dropping being held by a sneaker shoelace. The windows are the originals from when the place was built, about 70 yrs ago. If you want to stay warm in the winter and save on your fuel bill forget it. Your gonna pay....
Absolutley no rugs from the foyer to the dinning room, not a problem if the wood floors where nice or even ok. They were rotted in the dinning room discolored just disgusting.. the kitchen and bathrooms are a whole diffrent story. The place is screaming 1940s 50s to say the least. But we had no choice. As we were signing the lease these landlords and ther sister in law were trying to clean the place. They were just surface cleaners. The oven and refrigerator were a nightmare. The shower wasnt even looked at. Real nice just grab the checks and leave. The person who wears the pants Debbie Davis landlord told us to do what ever we wanted to the place as long as it was within reason and approval with them. So in order to make this place liveable for us and make us some what happy I started to paint the rooms. I talked to Gary Davis about replacing the rugs in the bedrooms since they were ripped and torn and offered to pay half. well after a long story of how he doesnt have money and this or that we went half on the rugs. And that was the last thing they did to that place. So I being neat and organized I replaced all the dropp ceilings and tracks since they were just being held by shoe laces. I also replaced a slideing glass shower doors (totaly rotted and molded) new ceiling fans, light fixters, floor tiles, a section of wood floor etc, etc,.
I knew I shouldnt of done all that but I had to make it liveable for us. One day i was installing a ceiling fan and I was alone so I turned off the main circuit breaker installed the fan and tried to turn on the breaker it wouldnt turn on so after several attempts i knew something was wrong so i called the landlords about the problem well they were less then happy they sent out there electrician he fixed it in 10 min. and told me that this was an existing problem and that he told our land lords about this several times but they didnt correct it. Then they forwarded me the bill for the electrician I told him to give it to the landlords since it was an existing problem...
.Come 2014 my wife and i were buying a house we gave them 65 day notice of our termination of the lease. I always thought our electric bill was high. So a thought came to me to see if i was paying for other tenants electricity well i was right. I traced a few wire and found out that i was paying for the entire basement usage. whick is the water heater, sump pump, laundry room lights, basements, lights, etc. so i approached the landlord and told him about it and he didnt know what to say. he knew he had this problem and he had to put his own service meter. I told him you oew me money and again he didnt know what to say so i told him i was going to call the utility company to lauch an investigation. found out also that the 3rd floor tenant was paying for 3 bedrooms in my apaertment. The day we were to make settlement was march 28 it got postponed to april 8 we told the landlords to prorate a 1250.00 amonth rent for the additional 8 days in april. we were paid up to the end of march. After two weeks later and a few phone calls he gave me a check for 250.00. he prorated me 100.00 a day for the place and additional 150.00 for not really cleaning the oven and refrig as if all the work i did, didnt matter. He hasnt returned my phone calls and here i am out 1100.00 for no reason other than a POS of a landlord...
