I have a roller pop out of my garage door and called Garage Door Services (Website: www.houstonsoverheaddoor.com, phone: 877.469.1416) to repair.
They charge me $550 ($100 to replace 10 rollers and $450 labor) for a 45 minutes job. I feel they took advantages of the situation and overcharge me BIG time. Just one word of advice when dealing with this company: BEWARE.
Typical bait and switch. I called and got a quote on a spring repair of $150-$250. Tech showed up and the price is suddently going to be over $1000. I asked him to leave and he remembered a two for one deal on springs, so now $660. I asked him for his best price and he said again $660. I asked him to leave a second time and he suddently rememered he could call his supervisor for a better n price. I asked him to leave a third time.
As the tech sat in my driveway, a "Senior Customer Manager" called me and left a message. I called him back to complain about their business practices. The man (named Michael) lied to me, tried to bully me and eventually threatened me. I hung up and he called me back to continue his harrassment. I hung up and he called me a third time. I hung up and called the main number to complain and got stonewalled by a CSR, (I'm a Purchasing Manager by trade, so I know how to do this). It was apparant to me that she was trained for this because it happends to them everyday.
Called local number 972-200-3866. Called to get an estimate for Garage door off track. Brian Crosek, Tech came out and mentioned it will take about 15-20 mins for $169. I asked for written estimate as it seemed high for 15-20 work. So i declined to fix. Brian mentioned that he will email me with notes. When I received the email, it was only the invoice for $19 for which wrote the check. But, no estimate. He asked me to call the office. When I called the office, the floor manager said they dont give written estimate.
