My partner an I started a farm in 2012. We found out that EBT sales or foodstamps in the area are needed to serve thoes customers too. So in the spring of 2014 we started a small business acount. We also expressed interest in a credit card processing machine so we could run EBT transactions. The banker that set up our account was Alisia PurPur leasing. We where led to beleve we where paying a monthly fee and the $70.00 month was for the silver account was to help us in fee reduction and benifit us in the future and a monthly machine rental. We didnt know that that money was for a ladco leasing fee . She brought us into her office and had a few documents .She said sign these papers and we would be good to go. We where never told this was a uncancelable agreement. We where led to beleve we where geting a service from the bank and we where in good hands. It wasnt a week after we receved the machine we started having problems. We where charged almost $450 for a swipe pin pad. This was suposed to be included in the package deal. It was returned and was not credited for 3 months and incured fees onmy account for this issue. The machine never took EBTs at all. We where told it could be programed. That never worked. We lost out on 250 coustumer contract to feed the aging and disabled in our area.We also failed to provide the coustumers at our locations with adiquate service. We looked not so reliable witha machine at the POS and no way to run a card because the equiptment didnt work. We sent the eqiptment back and talked to the bank manager(Cathy) and the Rep (Alissia Perpur) that set up the account and was told it was out of there hands and wished us good luck. We contacted merchant services and they sent us to Ladco and then you hit a wall and never get anywhere. You get bounced around with no solution. All you get is you signed the contract and get hung up on. I was geting $70 a month being withdrawn from our acount back in june but a few months later therer where amounts of $90, $120,$160... taken from Ladco. We where even sent bills in the Mail for hundreds of dollars on top of the bank withdrawls. We where over drawnbecause of Ladco and incured $300 in late fees because i didnt check my account in the off season of farming. I had to cancel my bank account, merchant account and have got nowhere. Its not like the bank told us who the leasing company was for good reason and had we known I would have shut down my small business account for them working with such people in the first place. Im at a loss and feel like the bank has taken us for a ride. I feel like ladco provided us with faulty equiptment and US bank Provided us with poor service and Questionable at best vendors and dupted us into this contract. The machines fair market value is only $150.00. There charging $2500.00 for leasing a $150.00 item. Its all a bit much.
