I did my research on Freeman Marketing... I didn't find much other than a similar report from this website as to what I'm about to post and Freeman Marketing's very professional yet vague website.
All seems well when Freeman Marketing is swift to email and call me regarding seting up an interview after I applied on credible job sites like Glassdoor, indeed, simplyhired....
on 3/26 at 8:18am the day my interview was scheduled, Freeman Marketing called to confirm my interview at 10:30, followed up with a confirmation email. Then the time comes and I arrive at their location in Toms River.
The complex seems a little shady and there is no indication that this company exists on any of the signs in the complex or the building directory. I still gave them the benefit of the doubt. I found another man looking for Freeman Marketing whom also happened to have 10:30 interview with the company.
I used the entry code they provided and proceed to the second floor where the directory for suite 15 indicates 3 other businesses located in the suite Freeman Marketing is in. Still, there is no mention of Freeman Marketing anywhere.
Upon arriving at Suite 15, myself and the other candidate found a very sloppy and unprofessional paper sign taped over another sloppy paper sign that says Freeman Marketing. I try to open the door, but the door is locked and the handle is broken and just spins. There doesn't seem to be any light coming from the crack under the door but I knock anyway, and as anticipated there is no answer. There is never an answer. After standing outside well passed our scheduled interview time, myself and the other candidate acknowledge the creepiness of the situation and leave. It was all too convenient that their number went to voicemail during this entire time.
40 minutes after I was suppose to be interviewed, I received an email from the company saying that I missed my interview, and they would like to reschedule.
It was only after I expressed my dissatisfaction and intent to report the company that Drew returned my call. He ranted on and on how that was unacceptable and he couldn't believe what he was hearing; that he would get to the bottom of it. The tone in his voice suggested otherwise.
Honestly, I believe I was lucky and nothing bad happened to me. I fear for others who may fall victim to whatever erie, scary scam Freeman Marketing is practicing. I honestly contemplated if I was going to be abducted, then the fear that perhaps the person who posted on here about Freeman Marketing and fake interviews was right, that they were going to break into my home while I was out at this faux meeting. My stomach is still in knots and I can't help but peek out my blinds, afraid of who I may find lurking outside my window.
I hope that this post will help others avoid any turmoil as a result of Freeman Marketing, Inc.
