If you are thinking of doing any type of business with this individual beware. I was contracted out to work on an appointment setting campaign for him for his Bookkeeping business - Freedom Bookkeeping. The agreed rate of pay was $12/hour for 10 hours per week with a $50 bonus for every business that singed up.
After a bumpy start with me supplying them with all of the neccesary tools to start apptoinmen setting I was doing the calls and contacting businesses provided to me on the list provided by him. Since I was working from home I used my home telephone but kept a handwritten log of every call made. Plus he received emails verifying the number of calls made with NA's, DISC, AM etc...I sent these over usually every other day.
After working for him for 21 hours and 4 appts. they decided to stop the campaign. Which was fine with me because trying to make appointment with business people after 5:30 pm is a challenge. I then turned in my invoice to him and he then never contacted me regarding payment. I literally had to hound this man to death. Then he said that he wanted a log from the phone company of every call made for him and from ATT (my cell phone.) Well I turned in 6 hours worth of ATT and tried my best to get the outgoing calls from Cox Cable. There is a glitch in the system and they could not pull the calls from the specific time frame. After sending him screen shots of me trying to pull these logs, and then going down to Cox and asking for them I called Manuel Franco and told him that I have tried to supply him with what he wants but it is impossible. I them even provided him with the name and number of the Manager that I talked to at Cox. He never called the manager at COX Cable or in any other way tried to verify that I made the calls.
During the time working for him he never indicated in any manner that he would require a formal log for payment. It was only after I requested to be paid that he started to be unreasonable. Out of the 4 appts. 2 cancelled. I was the appt. setter not he person going in person. They were supoosed to handle that "sales" part of it. These were start up businesses which had no idea of how to do bookkeeping. I did my part and set the appointment.
While sitting in front of him I asked him to spot check the written list with some of the calls that were DISC or NA. He refused. His big excuse is that if he was ever audited by the IRS he would not have back up proof of calls made. THIS IS A LIE! The written logs could be used as back up material.
Every dime counts these days and I did the work expecting to be paid. He does not respond to emails, voicemails. The only recourse I have is an employment attorney which I will be using. So if you do business with this individual BEWARE!! And he does taxes for Liberty Tax. Shame shame!!
