Ad in Mulletwrapper.com - local every 2 weeks paper ad is snowbird membership for only $99/mo - the paper is datec Jfan 21 - Feb 4, 2014 - called the toll free number was called back today to say snowbird special requires $2,000 down and ends in March - started in Oct but didn't advertise this "snowbird special" until now. He tried to sell a one yr membership and tried to sell $199/mo for a year, other but would not give the "snowbird special" they are running. Mulletwrapper.com - in print said they are running it again even though I have contacted them by phone and e-mail that it is a Bait & Switch Ad for sure. The paper said why would I think I could rent a boat for 99/mo - because that is what the ad which is large says - go see for yourself = no where on the homepage does it say $2,000 down - they are trying to take advantage of bait and switch on Senior Citizens. - the guy Mitch parker who represents Orange Beach said he only sells, not write ads - would not give what the ad is selling - must pay twice as much with large down payment. 251-981-9925 and 334-703-3875 to confirm the ad is deceptive.

Joined Freedom Boat Club last year, $500 a month. Found out by word of mouth that the franchise was sold to Nautical Options and when I called to find out, I couldn't get any straight answers.
I was told that it was for the better, more locations. Well, I don't need more locations because we stay in the area we live and never venture out to "other locations". We were never notified that our membership was "turned over" to another company. The new company is asking for MORE money to keep our membership, otherwise, the boats will "fade out" and eventually there will be no boats to reserve! Unbelieveable!!!
I do not recommend Freedom Boat Club to anyone. It is a rip-off. They just took our money and ran!

Freedom Boat Club just cancelled our membership, we have no rights, and have lost all our money. Nautical Options bought the member's rights but wants to charge MORE money, give more rules, and doesn't stand behind the original contract.
We were never informed that Freedom Boat Club was bought out by Nautical Options, we found out from another disgruntled member who lost all their money too. The boats are old, mildewed, run down, and we have been lied to. The membership with Nautical Options says 360 days a year but when we called, every Monday is closed for maintenance! Lie, lie, and more lies.
We took out an old pontoon boat recently and the deckhand just untied the boat and let us go. There was NO check list, didn't show us where the life jackets were, and my grandchild needed a children's jacket and it wasn't available to her.
I would NOT recommend FREEDOM BOAT CLUB to anyone! It is truly the biggest RIPOFF I've ever encountered. If you join, you could lose everything, they have no morals or ethics whatsoever!
Beware of Nautical Options. We cannot get any straight answers about Freedom Boat Club. Nautical Options membership employee, Morris Hines, cannot answer our questions. Beware of Freedom Boat Club, cannot get any answers either. Our membership was just stripped away, and we signed up for a lifetime!
