We ordered a custom latex mattress from Flobeds in August 2007 and completed our final core exchange by November 2007. Initially, we were pretty happy with our purchase with a few exceptions. The queen topper, which cost several hundred dollars, was actually 2 scrap pieces glued together rather than a single piece cut to queen size, which was a bit disappointing. However, the topper seemed to function just fine so we let that go. Within a few weeks of receiving the mattress, the threads started to come loose on the mattress casing, but it seemed to primarily be a cosmetic issue so we let that go as well. Those issues aside, the mattress served us well for about 4 years.
During the 4th year, the topper began to fall apart. As the mattress was still under warranty, I contacted the company thinking they would replace the topper. Instead, they simply sent me a can of spray adhesive. I contacted the company to complain, as the topper was falling apart and there is no way it could be glued back together, but was told that it was their policy to provide the adhesive and nothing more. Since I couldn't repair the topper, I had to remove it from the bed.
Once the topper was removed from the bed, we quickly realized that the sinking mattress was not the defective topper as we initially suspected, but the latex cores themselves. The mattress is sagging terribly and causing my wife and me incredible back pain. Considering that we paid several thousand dollars for this mattress, which only lasted less than 6 of the 20 years promised by Flobeds, I would highly recommend that you shop elsewhere.
