I "signed up" for this month to month facility less than a year ago. When I say signed up, my friend used my credit card number to sign me up. I was never given any terms and conditions nor did I sign any paperwork.
About 3 months into having the membership at the gym I realized I was not using it. I also take boxing and jiu jitsu classes so I dont always have time to go to a traditional gym. So I decided to cancel my Month to Month membership with Fitness Worx.
Unfortunately, after mutiple attempts to call the company, as well as physically going into the establishment I was not able to get ahold of anybody who worked there...It was like the gym wasnt even being managed.
Finally, after 3 more months of trying to get ahold of the owners(they continued to charge my card this entire time) I finally got a nasty email from a Maryam, saynig I could not cancel and they were going to continue to charge my card. I was disgusted at this so I called Maryam, she told me basically the same thing, I can do what I want but they will not cancel my membership.
At this point, I filed claims with my bank and destroyed my credit card they had on file.
Two days later I received another email from a Jim English...the owner?? He didn't act much like a business owner, calling me a fuc*ing idot and telling me about his 8000sqft home...as if I care. The membership was $32 a month, not a lot of money, I just don't think a fraudulent company like Fitness Worx and Jim and Maryam English should be able to bully people around.
