Like others I walked into a local medical ER Clinic with a stomach pain. I gave the admitting clerk my BC insurance card and she checked to see if the facility was a participating in-network provider upon my request. I was assured that I would only pay my co-pay up front and only be billed for the ammount that my insurance agreed to pay and that any extra billed I do not owe. I paid my co-pay and agreed to be examined only if as they agreed that they were in-network provider per my BC plan. Within 20 minutes they sent me home with a Rx to have my Gall Bladder removed by a local hospital surgeon. I went to the doctor at the hospital that they sent me to and the doctor asked me why I went to First Choice ER? He examined me and the x-rays that they took and advised that I only had extreamly small stone that may have already passed and there was nothing wrong with my Gall Bladder as he saw in the X-Rays. First Choice ER presented Blue Cross with approx. $14,000.00 bill of which they paid approx. $9900. I paid approx $320 copay. First Choice ER is now demanding that I pay a few thousand dollars additionally to them for their bad services. They will not honor their agreement to accept just what the BC insurance company coverage pays for standard reasonable and accepted billing charges. Please stay clear of First Choice ER or any of their affiliates or you will regret the day you went to them! Check the internet for reviews before you seek any services from crooks like these people.
I went to the Western Center location in Fort Worth Texas for a uti. They asked me questions and took urine sample. They asked if there's a chance I would be pregnant and I said no way. Anyways they prescribed two medications and sent me home. The medicine did not work so I ended up going to the real emergency room the following day because I was hurting so bad and they gave me the right medicine. Basically they did nothing for me but then they turn around and send me a bill for over two grand!. They did a pregnancy test even after I told them that I am not. Such a ripoff. I will make sure and let everyone I know to steer clear of this place. They are a bunch of frauds! I am not paying them a dime!!!!
My 20 yr old daughter had a sore foot, and went to this place thinking it was like an Urgent Care, which we have used many times for a reasonable fee or charge. They do tell you that it is an "Emergency Care" facility - but don't tell you or give you any idea what the fees/charges will be.
For 3 x-rays & a prescription for Ibuprofen; they charged $2,660 !!
I have excellent insurance with Aetna; they disallowed about $800 and paid about $800; and I am left with two bills of $522.39 + 478.10 = $1000.49 !!! This for 3 x-rays! No matter how you explain it, that's a Rip-off.
I was charged $616.00 for a plaster .I complained and there said they would take will take 35% off with no problem .I told them they crazy and they said they will get back to me with a better deal.I am waiting as i filled and insurance complaint
I went to First Choice Frisco for treatment of hives on 2/10/2015. I specifically asked for the cost of service and was told that it would be filed with insurance. I then asked would it be a "couple of hundred bucks", and the attendant at the window led me to believe this would be the cost. Well, imagine my surprise when I received a bill for $1,320 coveriing a 10 minute visit, a steroid shot and Zantac. The original charge was $1,584 ($284 covered by insurance). If I had known this cost, I think I would have held out until the next day to viisit my GP. This is deceitful and this company should be forced to post their costs at the front desk, so consumers can make the correct choice.
On 1/02/2015 my daughter was visiting my sister in Allen, Tx and ended up with the Flu. She went to First Choice with my sister who thought it was a urgent care facility, my sister explained that she wanted my daughter to be seen for flu symptoms.
The original bill was for $7580.00 of that cost our insurance company, Aetna, disallowed $758.00 and paid $3101.76 leaving a balance of $3720.24 for us to pay.
The facility charge was $2258.00, IM/SQ $51.00, Venipuncture: collection of venous blood $33.00, Zofran 1mg IM/IV $156.00, CT - Abdomen/Pelvis w/o contrast $4,703.00, Influenza $156.00, UA Dip $47.00,Urine Pregnancy $121.00.
I went to that hospital because I got a scratch by my cat, which is indoor. I shouldn't have gone but my mom insisted... anyway, i went and the doc just talked with me for about 10-15 mins without doing anything, not even a temp check or clean wound. I already paid $100 copay. Then the bill came, $485 for facility fees and $475 for Physician charge (after 100 copay deduction, so you do the math here). I have also been to other ER before but none of them charged me this high! I earn my money very hard! How could they just charge this high amount for basically nothing! Better yet, as a helpless customer, you've no way to know this cost upfront (even though I specifically asked, what they told me was: we'll just charge you copay) or even negotiate the price. I will NEVER go to this ER again!!! screw them!!! and now they're threatening to report to the bureau. Is there any better tool you can use? do you dare to post your insane bill and make it transparent? do you dare tell the customers exact amount upfront? SHAME ON YOU!
I'm definitely fighting this bill. I'll dispute, I'll go to BBB, I'll post my experience on social media, I'll let everyone one I could reach out to know their evil face!!! I'll do EVERYTHING I can to FIGHT THEM!
All of us who have suffered should unite and file a CLASS ACTION! If you are seriously consider this like me, if you earn your money the hard way, if you don't think you've been treated fairly, reach out to me at . Let's unite and FIGHT them.
