This Company is a Title Insurance Company. I was told by my Realtor, (who has a personal relationship with the Escrow Officer Jacque Mateo), that according to Arizona Law, I had to submit earnest money, too be held in an Escrow account until close of escrow of a home. I found out through a Real Estate attorney that there is no such Law. The Mortgage Company, of which you have numerous complaints against is called Proficio Mortgage Co LLC.
They were nearly going out of business and shut down the office that held my file for a loan mortgage. I had completed all documentation for the mortgage loan, and that was needed was an appraisal and inspection, all the way back in 8/29/2014. Proficio mortgage had assigned 9 different loan officers to my file of which 6 of them are no longer with the company, and each time my file was mishandled, or lost, and they continued to asked for updated information each time all the way up to 10/27/2014, I had provided the information back to 8/29/2014.
The mortgage loan was never issued and my file was lost when Proficio downsized, and possibly going out of business. I demanded my earnest money back in the amount of $1500.00 in a letter sent to Jacque Mateo at First American Title Ins. Co. through email. First American Title refused and said i did not provide the necessary documentation to the Mortgage Company Proficio, when I had done that already back in 8/29/2014. They stole my earnest money and gave it to the seller and the Broker that listed the property. This Company is already on your site for complaints by other individuals, if I had known about your site and saw that I would have never trusted them. Consumers need to know about companies that ripoff people.
If I could find a negative rating I would use it, this is a typical insurance scam. Preferred vendors that are overpriced and mandated to use. They absolutely dont allow you to even get a second competetive bid even from their list of preferred and certified vendors. I am filing a complaint with BBB right after this. They demand that you use their vendors without any competitive bidding even from within their own network. No explanations given, even though demanded. Im sure they dont even care enough about their reputation to even understand warratnly holders are screaming about thiwe bad service here, so maybe Ill jump over to post to homewarrantyreviews and post there as well. there must be some recourse.
I would say buyer beware, but as with any insurance type of coverage, its all about them and not the customer.
My newly purchased home needed a new furnace after the bank fooled me with inspection reports. First american forces you to use a vendor they selected with no competetive bid, or offers you a cash out....so if you dont know this scam yet, they offer you a pay out and you can pursue your own solution.
Here are the facts of my new furnace. Replace furnace with their vendor for several thousand of uncovered costs or take a cashout of $465 for a furnace that costs north of 4 Grand! If this isn't a scam, I dont know what is.
