As the other report on this company, they are a telemarketer who tried to represent a local volunteer fire department WITHOUT the knowledge of that fire department. I called that local fire department and they verified that this telemarketer was NOT authorized nor worked with them. The telemarketer even had the name of the Vice President of the fire company!
This was in reference to an ad campain promoting fire safety and some kind if magnet that businesses pay for their name to appear on, given out to local residents. Obviously the same kind of scam as the previous report from last year.
I was contacted by Firehouse Promotions, Inc and asked if I would be interested in donating $500 to place an ad on a Fire Safety Awareness dry erase board that would be handed out all throughout the Easley SC Fire Department for all of their fire safety awareness events. I, being a firefighter in the past was very willilng to do this. I was told the chief of the department asked for me specifically. This didn't come as a surprise because I am constantly trying to help first responders buy and sell homes throughout upstate SC. When I received the invoice, the invoice said Dacusville Fire Department which is an extremely small department that I really didn't have interest in putting $500 into for promotional purposes. I called them right away to cancel my order. I was assured that this was a mistake and that the promotional products were for Easley Fire Department and no other. The lady I spoke to was very convincing and I took her word for it. After all, this is for a good cause that I fullly believe in so I let it ride. Well when I finally received the finished product, because they send you a few, I was extremely dissapointed in the cheapness of the product and the fact that it was only produced for Dacusville Fire Department. Easley Fire Department is no where on this product. I have contacted them multiple times to get my money back or just come to some sort of resolution and have had no luck. They do not care to talk with you, they basically take no blame whatsoever for what they do and they in no way care about the fact you have been lied to by their company. If you are ever contacted by this company, do your research. I wish I would have, but I had the warm and fuzzy feeling of helping out my local fire department. If you google the company name Firehouse Promotions, you will find a HUGE amount of people with complaints that are never resolved. These people make a living off scamming you in the name of your local fire department. BEWARE or you'll be out $500-600 like I am. They should really be ashamed of themselves.
This company claims to be affiliated with the local fire houses in the neighborhood that your company is located and that the firehouses will distribute the laminated boards to the type of clients you service during demonstrations or events.
I visited all the firehouses in the area they claimed they were going to distributed their advertisement and no firehouse had any knowledge of being affiliated with any such advertising.
Firehouse promotions claims that the project takes up to six months to put together before you even get to see the magnet board, well I had to call to find out when I was going to receive my board. They ask you for other businesses in your area so they can say that you are advertising with them why not join on the same board. You receive the card and then you find out that there are only two other advertisers, when they said that you needed to rush because there are only 4 spaces to fill and other people want to advertise with them.
When you agreed to advertise they have strict deadlines so they can charge your credit card quickly. Don't try to go bacl on your order because there is no one you can speak to in customer service. They can only deal with problems by email because the administrator is deaf and cannot speak with any one over the phone.
I went the extra step to call the other people that were on my magnet board and they do not take calls, only led me to believe that they are in on the scam or that Firehouse Promotions took pictures from the internet web sites to put together the 10 magnet boards that they send you when the project is ready. By the way, the reason the project takes 4 or more months is so the charge card company does not debit their account if the problem is reported 6 months down the line.
These guys have some team ripping people off for $700.00 a pop. Don't advertise or become a victim of their scam!
