This company called me in mid-April. The rep's name was Sarah Banks. I had a few accounts thsat needed to be collected. They seeme reputable. About $8000 plus interest plus costs. They asked for $3500. This would be the entire fee. I sent it to them overnight. They cashed the check. They called me to tell me they received the check. That was that last I heard from them.
I thought they would work with an attorney who would draft the complaint. I waited a few weeks and then called for a status update.
When I called the nuymber they had list on their website, this is what happened (my conteporaneous notes):
5/15/15: 2pm left vm for Elizabeth Stone
5/19/15: 4:15pm left vm for Elizabeth Stone
5/20/15 8:45am sent message via Adams' website as follows:
My name is Ronald from Support Central, Inc. dba Commercial Cooling & Heating in Las Vegas, NV. About April 24th I sent you a check for $3500 to collect on 3 accounts. I also signed a contract.
I called 805-485-9086 last Thursday May 14th, hoping to speak to my account rep Sarah Banks. I was greeted my a recording saying this was the voicemail of Elizabeth Stone, and to please leave a message. I did, inquiring about the status of my accounts. I called the same number again yesterday, May 19th, and again received the same voicemail. I left a message again inquiring as to the status of my accounts.
This procedure does not seem to be working. What is the procedure for reaching a person who is willing, ready, able and authorized to keep me informed as to the status of my accounts?
My office phone number is 702-483-5503. This is a direct line. I am out of the office mr than in. I strongly recommend call my on my cell phone 847-372-2482.

I got scammed. Does anyone know who in California to contact? This is fraud. Are collection agencies licensed or regulated in any way California?
