I need your help and assistance in this very horrible stressful situation. In January of 2015 I wanted to cancel a deposit on a wedding dress that I put down in November of 2014 for a couple of reasons. First, because I found the same exact dress, by the same designer for $1100.00 cheaper just by looking on the internet. I have 4 different websites that I can share with you that sells this dress for $400.00. Secondly, I am not getting married until April 15, 2016.
On November 15, 2014 I walked into FiFi’s Bridal & Custom Design in Elmhurst, Illinois. I only went there to try on this one wedding dress that wasn’t supposed to have come out till the Spring of 2015. So I was very very excited. FiFi had a sample of the dress. I am getting married on April 15, 2016. This was 17 months away. So I had plenty of time to purchase a dress. I made an appointment to come in and I tried on the dress that I was planning on buying in May or June of 2015.
Apparently (which I didn’t have a clue about) looking at wedding dresses is, if not more pressure than walking into a car dealership. Honestly, I had no intentions at all on putting any money down for a dress I was not going to need until 17 months later. That doesn’t make any sense.
I don’t know if you are aware of this or not, but FiFi cannot order any wedding dress 17 months in advance. There are 2 important reasons why you cannot order a wedding dress that far in advance. First if you did, the ivory dress would turn brownish, and secondly I have to get measured again just to make sure the size of my dress hasn’t changed. Because in 17 months I could put on some weight or lose some weight which might reflect on a different size then the one I tried on. She has not ordered the dress as of yet. So why should she be entitled to the 1000.00 deposit?
What I am trying to say is FiFi took my deposit of $1000.00 and she hasn’t even ordered the dress. So she is earning interest on that $1000.00. The reason I waited this long to dispute this transaction is because on the receipt that I signed it says ALL SALES ARE FINAL. I Understand There Are No Exchanges Or Refunds. She cant even order the dress until 8 month or so closer to the wedding date. So she really has no good reason to keep my $1000.00 deposit. Please deny Fifi bridal the $1000.00 dollars.
I understand that if she ordered the dress, it would be most definite that I would not get my 1000.00 deposit back, or if she started any type of alterations then for sure I would not even think to even ask you for this. But like I have been saying she hasn’t even ordered the dress. I am a nervous wreck and filled with so much anxiety over this which I know is not your problem or issue.
In January of 2015 I put a dispute in with my credit card company and they suggested that I try to work something out with Fifi. when I put my dispute in the rep asked me if I asked for the deposit back and I did not. However, after I got off the phone I had sent the request to FiFi to refund my $1000.00. That was done on 1/15/15 at 12:08 pm Central time. She still has not responded to the request. I have called several times and nothing is happening. If there is anything that you can do I would really appreciate it very much! Honestly, I never intended to put any money down for a dress I didn’t need for a year and a half.
