Farebuzz, an Africa specialized travel agent company rip off on people. Here is what happend.
The end of February 2015, two of my friend and myself booked airline tickets on their sites from Abidjan, Ivory Coast to Dakar, Senegal. The trip was to take place on April 7, 2015 through Senegal Airline.
My friends and I went to the Abidjan airport to check in and only to find out Senegal Airline stopped service there since last January. Farebuzz even sent us an email the day before to let us know that the departure time has changed from morning to afternoon the same day.
We had to come back the guest house and contacted the customer service of farebuzz in New York. After several attempts, they told us that they will call back and never returned the call.
Without any of their follow-up, we had to go back to the airport to book tickets to Dakar that departs the next day through Kenya Airline.
Once we came to the United States, we made a claim through our credit card companies only to find out that once they refuse to issue a refund, there is nothing the credit companies can do.
I contact again the farebuzz customer service with an agent by the name Andrew. He told me that his company isn't responsible because Senegal Airline stopped the service. So, they wont' issue a refund either to the credit card company or to me. It's only a small amount of money, that is, three hundred dollars that it isn't worth getting a laywer.
My friends and I aren't considering to move any further to get this issue resolved with Farebuzz. But, I want anyone considering booking a ticket through Farebuzz to know that "do it at your own risk." I think they are into a very shady business.
