I paid for booking/artist management services of FPA Agency. FPA's website clearly states FPA books and promote artists as well as provide management and consultation services. I had extensive phone calls and texts with FPA representative Matthew who expressed I would receive all the services that is listed on the website. I told Matthew I could pay $3000 in which he stated that if I paid $6000, FPA would match that so I could receive the $12,000 package. He acted as if I should do this right away so FPA could get started on marketing and work out a plan of action. He stated they have been in business for several years and have several contacts/relationships in the industry. However, there is a clear misunderstanding from what FPA's website and Matthew state and what FPA actually offers.
During my initial phone conversations with Matthew I expressed the need for management services in which he responded they offered (clearly stated on the website as well). I also asked about FPA providing bookings for unknown up and coming artists in which Matthew replied they do book unsigned artists as well. However, when I phoned Matthew of my displeasure with the way things were going, he replied that FPA does not provide bookings; that an artist is booked only when someone calls for them. Matthew failed to mention this prior to me making payment when I specifically asked him about bookings. Also prior to paying I specifically asked about working with unsigned artists due to the fact that new artists do not have a huge following, relatively unknown and would not be asked for any bookings by promoters. He blatently lied and mislead me to believe that FPA would book.
To this day, I have yet to receive artist management, booking, consultation or a phone call since the day I wired payment of $6000. I have not heard a peep out of them or received any type of notification that something is being done other than video placed on website and Hot 100 playlist. There is absolutely no accounting to the client of how/if/when FPA do anything.
Joining FPA was clearly based on misrepresentation which furthermore created unnecessary stress. At this point, it is safe to say that FPA has no intention of providing artist management, booking, consultation or any other service that their website and Matthew claims. There are no checks and balances with this company. I paid for a certain service in good faith based on information on FPA's website and their representative Matthew.
Also, there is no physical address listed for them. The website states they are located in the city of Santa Monica, CA however I contacted the Better Business Bureau in Santa Monica California for an address which they could not find however they did show a Nevada address. Apparently, they are doing business in California but located out of Nevada with a California phone number. Also when you call FPA it seems as if the phone number is a personal cell number that belongs to Matthew and not a business number. In fact, Matthew is the only person you will ever speak to and the only phone number for the company. Also FPA Agency is not BBB Accredited.
It is safe to say that FPA is not working on my behalf or displaying any effort to accomplish what I paid for. This company appear to be fraudulent and very misleading. I am requesting a full refund for services not rendered.
