Fairway Parking, Inc. Reviews

  • Mar 14, 2015

I'm writing to report what appears to be a well-organized scam between Geoff Posluszny (Fairway Parking) and Flower City Towing in the downtown Rochester area.

On the night of Friday February 13th, I parked my vehicle at 182 East Avenue, Rochester, NY 14604 and attempted to purchase a parking voucher from the machine located in Geoff’s parking lot. The credit/debit card function was not working. Since the machine does not give change, and having only a $20 bill on me, I went to the closest store I could find to buy something in order to receive some smaller bills. Upon returning a few minutes later, I find that my vehicle has been towed.

After calling the tow company's number on the machine, I was informed to meet the driver at a specified location and that the fee would be $129 cash only. I found it quite amusing watching the tow truck go back and forth all night towing everyone in the parking lot. I find out they do this every week to people. When I saw the tow truck, I wavied him down to ask why the machine would not take my card, he laughed and said it was not his problem. In frustration I asked him (also 1 other witness was present) if they were running a cash only business to avoid taxes, and to my amazement he replied "pretty much." Regardless of what NY State does to remedy this, I will certainly be contacting the IRS to let them know about this.

Moreover and unbelievably, the recording on the Fairway Parking answering machine is still playing a message which acknowledges that the voucher-dispensing machine is not in order, and that a technician has been dispatched. Weeks later, however, the message remains un-changed and cars are still being towed by these crooks.

I emailed Geoff Posluszny several times, called him several times, left his messages and he would never return my calls because he knows I called him out on his scam. He thinks I won't do anything to report him... well guess what, NY State is going to hear about his scam.

It is absolutely outrageous to think that a company can get away with this. By not servicing its units, it forces people to either pay with exact change or pay with large bills and not receive change. When they walk away to get change, their vehicles are towed. How does this make any sense in a modern, functioning society? The city of Rochester (if involved in this) should be ashamed of themselves for sinking to such pathetic, corrupt levels.
