This company stole all my house hold furniture. Would not let me see my unit. Said I forgot to lock my unit which is a lie Was charging me a fee for nothing .
I rented an EZ Storage with my friends in early May until June. On June 30th I went in, emptied it, asked what I had to do to sign out and they said all I needed was to take my lock off. I left with my lock in hand and never returned. I received a call a week later and was asked when I removed my lock, I replied June 30th, they said okay no problem, and hung up. About a month later I receive a collections notice for the 132 dollars I owe the company.
I called to inqure about this after three different phone calls they explained to me they check twice a day that the units are locked and mine was on until the weekend of July 4th. I however was not in the state during the July 4th weekend and I had left with my lock in hand as well as with a roommate that can verify that. The manager said I must have snuck in behind someone since my gate code was expired and removed the lock over the weekend. The only thing left in my power was to ask for a review of security footage that is said on their website they have in the facility to protect customers and their belongings. I called the manager, Spencer, of the building I was at and he said he told me that he did not need to look at the footage, then after more insisting he said he had watched and i'm not allowed to see, after pointing out his discrepency in what he said he immediately hung up.
I went to EZ Storage corporate again and asked that if footage can be reviewed. If they reviewed it and they did not see me June 30th around 5 pm removing the lock, I would be glad to pay the balance owed. When I asked them they immediately responded that they closed my case and that if the charge was sent to collections they had already reviewed footage and key access and would not help me anymore.
Basically, EZ Storage did not try to use any legitimate ways to help me with this discrepancy or address the fact that the manager lied to me about what he did in my case, only responding with, "Well I wasn't there." This is very poor operations and customer service on their part because they did not leave me, as a client with any voice or receipt to acknowledge what I had done on my part.
