Yes, I was a tennant at Anchor Village Apartments nearly four years. The apartment manager Christine Rook shouted at a little eleven year old black boy because he was petting a cat that was sitting outside on the pavement in front of the managers office. The owner of the cat had seen the little boy petting her cat and ran inside to complain to the management that he was petting her cat. The manager Christine Rook ran outside and screamed at the litttle boy not to touch the ladies cat. I was standing there and watching the whole thing. The little boy ran away in tears. I went straight to the management office and went inside and told them all including the manager Christine Rook that it was city ordinance that all cats be kept inside and it was the owners responsibliity to do so. Christine Rook threatened later to evict me. She refused to renew my lease so I was on a month to month basis. In Washington state the law states that a landlord may ask a tenant to leave within 20 days with no reason and the tenant has no recourse. Finally one day she put a 20 day notice on my door as well as two other people in the ten unit building I lived in. In The other units included a black man with two black children who was on disability and a Russian family with a small child. Call me whatever, but this woman and Essex Property Trust company are prejudice against black people. My boy was thirteen and half Arab. He played with all the little black kids in the neighborhood and always has. He is from Houston, Texas where most of his friends were of color. In fact the little boy who had petted the cat was also from Houston coincidentally. Christine Rook hated my boy because he was Arab, she hated my daughter and she hated me because I stood up for the little black boy. So, she got rid of me and my children and I fell through the cracks. It has been seven years and I am now reporting. Essex Property Trust is the richest property trust company in America and is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange. They recieve government housing and bond money for their property in Mukilteo, WA The Elliott where I used to live. It was formerly known as Anchor Village Apartments. Beware.
