Eric comes off as a nice middle aged man who is willing to do anything for his clients. Once you get to know him and he has siphoned enough money out of you that's when you see this man's true colors. Eric will mislead you with lies and denial of anything you have spoken to him about. I hired Eric 3 months ago and was naive enough to give him a deposit as he requested (never give a deposit, a reliable contractor has credit readily available). Three weeks after he took my money he started the renovation. 10 weeks into the renovation I fired him because his lying and deceitful ways got to me.
On the night I fired him he came to my apartment to pick up his tools. He was drunk at the time and heavily smelled of alcohol. Unfortunately by that time I paid him almost the full balance with about few hundred to spare. He still had the audacity to request more even though nothing was fully completed, not a single room. He also managed to damage every single material that I provided him to work on, and he never took blame for any of it. Hiring him was the biggest mistake of my life both financially and emotionally.
Eric Rinkis suffers from alcoholism and we all know addicts are liars to themselves and those they associate with. The man constantly has the smell of alcohol on his breath and his disease causes him to lie and forget what he has promised you. When he does fulfill his obligations to you, the work he and his men complete is extremely rushed and sloppy. This makes the low ball offer He gave you not worth it. Please note he provides no materials and only charges for labor. At the end of the day his work costs as much or more than any contractor will quote you.
Additionally, Eric was arrested and charged with a felony in December 2013 for passing a bad check at an estate sale. This is man is scam artist in sheeps clothing. You can google that for yourselves. Anything written about this man online is the god honest truth. I only wish I read it before I gave him my deposit.
If you have given him a deposit try to get it back. If you can't, you're better off hiring another contractor for the job. Either way the deposit you lose will be less than keeping ERIC RINKIS aka Eriks Rinkis around.
