First of all, he tried to act like having been a boy scout some how made him more trustworthy as an advisor then he pontificated for what seemed like hours about stocks and bonds. I was a bond trader for seven years in Manhattan and this guy did not know what he was talking about. He's a small town idiot.
He was a friend of the family so I sat there and listened to him talk down to my relatives about all the things he didn't know. I would never let him pick a stock becuase 1) he's an idiot and 2) he wanted to charge us 2% to go in and out of equities - yes I said 2% to go in and 2% to get out. And I wouldn't even buy a mutual fund from him because he knew nothing about asset allocation. He's an idiot. He spouted off about his own take on asset allocation which is nothing like actual asset allocation for ten minutes until I realized he was just trying to justify getting my relatives to roll over their substantial 401ks, trusts, and annuity money. He could have cared less about asset allocation. He just wanted to scare them out of what they had.
Don't trust this. He looks like something out of Lord of the Rings and your account will too if you trust him to manage it.
