About 3 years ago I hired Edith de la Canal who identified her self as Immigration Attorney to process my permanent residence, she charged me $3865. The total included $2365.00 for USCIS processing fees plus $1500.00 for her services. The total fees were paid in advance, as well the USCIS approval paperwork and personal documentation were handed to her -as she requested-; according to Edith de la Canal the length of the process should be 3 months or less. Up today, no monies, no documentation, no green card!! I called her in numerous times, and every times she had a different excuses, the last one was that her daughter had an accident and she used my money to cover her medical expenses. I have requested her to reimburse my money and my documentation, but until this time, I did not get any response. We do know that she moved her office in the same building and her phone number was also changed. In order to locate her we investigate her name in the Attorney's bureau and she is not an attorney, not even a paralegal.She charged fees as an attorney, when she is just filling papers, in addition she is not licensed to operate that kind of business. If you trusted her -as I did- and she also commit a fraud to you, please join us...This report will be addressed to USCIS (Immigration & Naturalization Services)
