Mr. Ed Sides was contracted to make home renovations to my home in Austin. Texas in October 2013, and, as of February 2014, he has failed to meet contractual obligations. As of this report, he will not return any correspondence that I have attempted in order to remedy the situation.
He owes me a significant amount of money! He has been partially paid for his work, and he has stolen over $10,000 from me. This is in the form of work that he has not completed - or has not even begun. He appeared to be trustworthy initially; So, when he aksed for funds for materials and a labor draw, I paid him.
Hence, he has been paid for work has not been completed or has not even been started. I have several voicemail messages left by him acknowledging that he owes me this money, but he will not pay the money to me, and now he will not call me back or respond to my communication attempts to him. he cites ""bad times"" and that he ""cannot catch a break"" I have since learned that there are other households in the same situation as I am now- for whom he contracted and told them the same excuses regarding a ""sick relative,"" ""I've been ill,"" ""I lost my carpenter....electrician...plumber....""
I do NOT Want this manipulator to affect the lives of anyone else!!!!!! He has left the home in complete disrepair and has acknowledged this lack of completion, but he has made no attempt at reconciling the difference,e ither in work or return of any funds. He is a complete con artist, and has ripped me off of thousands of dollars.
Thank you for posting your experience. Ed Sides did a blueprint for me years ago and when I was ready to talk specifics I was informed that he had suffered a heart attack and was not available to talk. I scrapped that project, but I was JUST about to contact him to get a bid for some repairs I need done on my house in Austin - but I found your warning, so I'm not going to now.
Sounds like you saved me from a lot of heartache. I'm sorry for what happened. I hope you get resolution soon.
