I went online to make a reservation at a Super 8 motel in Marysville, Ohio. When I checked my bank account the next morning I had been charged for the room. I then called Easy To Book and was told that I was unable to cancel my reservation because I had made a reservation with a special rate. None of this was explained to me at the time that I placed the reservation. The customer service rep told me that it was in their terms and conditions. I explained to her that I never saw their terms and conditions.
I have made plenty of reservations in my lifetime and have never had my card charged until I had arrived at the hotel and checked in. I then called the Super 8 in Marysville, Ohio and was told that Easy To Book was a sister company of Expedia and that I needed to call them. I called Expedia and they told me that this was definitely not the case.
I just recently made a reservation with a reputable online company. They did not take the funds from my account and when my plans changed I had to cancel and was able to without any problem. Since my reservation is for a month from now anything could happen and I would not be able to arrive at the Super 8 in Marysville, Ohio but I would still have paid for a room that I never used. Makes me wonder if Easy To Book and Super 8 are in cahoots together!
Easytobook charged me for 4 nights and they never gave me a confirmation number yet they took my money, they said it was a technical error and that I was not in the system yet they took my money. I called again and they told me I had to wait 7 days to get my money back but I still do not see anything. So basically I gave them almost 500 dollars for free.
