I paid $189.00 for their 5 yr. warranty back in 2010 on a 58" Samsung Plasma. After 21 months it developed multiple wide horizontal discoloration bands from edge to edge. I filed a claim. DTVexpress asked me to submit photographic screen shots to "diagnose" the problem. Based on THAT they denied the claim, using what I now call their "UNIVERSAL ESCAPE CLAUSE."
Read and learn, folks, it excludes: "ANY IRREGULAR VIEWING QUALITY ISSUES displayed by any type of TV including but not limited to blooming, strobing, judder, bluring, color shift, or an imbalance of back lighting in one or more areas of the TV." So the question here, folks, isn't what DTV Express "doesn't cover," but rather what if anything it DOES cover under that clause. It's now 5 years later, I never saw a dime, and their website continues to reel in victims.
Don't make the same mistake I did - READ THE FINE PRINT. You won't get a copy of all their terms and exclusions, it's only viewable on their website. Dig around and you'll find it. My advice: take the amount of the premium, flush it down, and you'll have the same protection as if you did business with them, without the aggrevation of having to deal with them as they dodge your claim.
Better yet, go to Cxxxxx and buy their Extended Warranty - you don't even have to buy your TV from Cxxxxx to get legitimate coverage. Forewarned is forearmed.
