We bought a car from this place 11 days ago and their "inspection report" is a crock of s***. The oil life was due 40 miles before we got the car, both front struts are bad, ball joint is bad, intake vacuum line was completely ripped off but they glued it back, the roters are warped and both rear control modules are bad. Over $2500 worth of things wrong. They changed the inspection date while we were buying the car. And this 30 day warranty is b.s. They hung up on my husband and said don't call them back. All of the way around horrible service, lies, no inspections, and refusing to fix the issues.
I purchased a 2005 Nissan Altima for around 15,000. The mileage was high at the time of purchase so I was clearly overcharged. After about 2 months with the vehicle it started using an excessive amount of oil. A few months later it started running really bad and then it just stopped running period.
It was using alot of oil, at times there was smoke coming from the tail pipe, on more than two occasions I was pulling into traffic and the vehicle would not accelerate; forcing me to pull over out of harms way. The vehicle won't pass inspection, which has been out since August of last year because of the problems with the vehicle.
I took it to the shop recommeded by drive time, paid for the repairs and had to return to the shop a few days later for the car was not fixed. The shop called me and informed me that the whole engine would have to be replaced. Drive time paid for the new engine. After two weeks of not having a vehicle for work I picked up the car from the shop.
A week later the check engine light was on and I experienced the same issues. Taking it back to the shop they again replaced the engine. After a couple of weeks..check engine light is on, same issues. I have made multiple complaints to drive time about the isuues with the vehicle and they refuse to acknowledge the fact that they sold me a car that does not run, nor is it safe to drive.
After 4 times in the shop and going through three different engines; the shop recently informed me that the repairs for my car are not under warranty and that its going to cost $1992.32 to fix. I do not have the money for the repairs, Nor do I trust that this will fix the problem.
I called Drive time about the issue they want me to spent out of pocket for the repairs and they will schedule a payment plan for me. I do not feel I should make payments on a vehicle that is constantly in the shop. I have to work in order to pay for the vehicle and I am losing hours depending on a ride from some one else. I am to the point where I no longer want the vehicle, and I feel like Drive time should do something to accomodate a loyal customer. I need some legal advice.
This company has built its business preying on people who don't know how to deal with car sales or folks who have bad credit. Whatever the amount of the down payment they charge is approximately the amount THEY paid for the car. DO YOUR HOMEWORK!
I have had the transmission in this 2009 Hyundai Elantra replace TWICE in less than a year! When I asked them if I could trade the car in for another vehicle, they said they wouldn't consider it until the balance was down to $4000 (which, it turns out, is the Kelly Blue Book value for this heap!) This will be quite a feat since they charged me a total of $22,000 for it!
Yes, that's right! I paid $22,000 for a car that was worth less than $7,000 when I bought it last year! I didn't know anything about buying a car, but I have learned A LOT!
I paid a $2000 down payment for the car and have been paying almost $400 a month ever since. I am going to have to let the car be repossessed and just take the credit report damage. THIS time, I am going to pay for a car upfront or find a company that can work with my credit who does NOT have this kind of rating!
