Dr. Dawn Hargraves was my dentist for several years. After a long search for the perfect dentist, I felt blessed to find her practice. That is what makes leaving this complaint so difficult. In the beginning, she always kept her appointments. The dental work was immaculate, and I never had any issues with billing or insurance. But over time, she began to change. Professionalism seemed less important to her. When I showed up to my last three appointments, I had to wait more than 30 minutes each time. I understand that everyone has an off day every now and again, but it was becoming a habit.
During my last visit, I needed a crown to repair a broken tooth. She did a great job with the procedure, and the work has been holding up, but I was over billed.
My dental plan has a maximum annual coverage limit of $1,000. For an all-porcelain crown, I was told it would cost $1,150, but it ended up costing me $1,450. I had to come up with the extra money out-of-pocket! That was really hard to do as I'm on a fixed income. When I called to complaint about the billing issue, I was told that is what they charge and that there's nothing they can do. The dental work is always great, I'll be looking for another dentist. If you're OK with your dentist making you wait, and being over billed for procedures, then she is the dentist for you.
