I had contacted Donald Raul Odell through Craigslist a few months ago about purchasing passes to the Lollapalooza 3-day music festival. He seemed genuine enough - he would speak of his children, about how his wife had cheated on him, and would constantly talk about how he's "not a bad guy" and how he "keeps it real." He, in fact, is a degenerate.
I had (foolishly) sent him the money for the passes in advance. He stayed in contact with me, texting me and giving me updates on when the passes would be in, the whole nine yards.
Then when the day finally came, he bailed. Completely dropped contact with me. I had sent him some texts about filing a police report and what not, and he ended up calling me and absolutely lost it. He told me he would send me my money back, but since that phone call, he didn't contact me again. No texts, no phone calls, no e-mails. Nothing.
He sent me a photograph of an ID (which, unfortunately, I no longer have) that listed the following information:
Name: Donald Raul Odell
Address: 4435 S Sawyer Ave, Chicago, IL
Height: 5' 6"
Eyes: Brown
Regrettably, I do not remember the specific date of birth on the ID, although I am fairly confident he is 37-38 years old.
In the ID picture, he was balding/bald, caucasian, wearing a blue shirt and with glasses. He was not smiling in the picture; more or less just a straight face.
I was able to find an alternate address earlier today online, located at 6240 S Talman Ave Chicago, IL. I texted him saying, " Hey, does 6240 S Talman Ave ring a bell? " to which I got my first response in over a week: "OH NO."
From what I've gathered from another Ripoff Report, he's done this to multiple people. Although I'd like my money back, I would more importantly like to see justice brought to this lowlife. An individual who claims to have met with Donald (he calls himself Don) says that he is most definitely the man in the ID photograph, and that his name checks out to be legitimate.
The phone number he contacted me from was 312-402-7464. He also passed along an e-mail address: [email protected].
