On Sunday, May 31, 2015 at approximately 21:00 I ordered a pizza to be delivered from my local Domino's Pizza Franchiisee. I ordered my pizza just like I always order it, just a plain cheese pizza with extra cheese. Usually, I would say about 95% of the time, my pizzas come just fine. I have run into some delivery issues such as the driver not wanting to bring my pizza up my 8th floor unit and wanting me to come down to the lobby and get it, which is bullshit but I did not think that was worth complaining about by itself. If my pizza came in a reasonable amount of time, at was reasonably accurate and they brought it even close to my unit, I was happy enough. I don't even complain when I usually get my cheese pizzas and you can taste some other topping on one piece that someone accidentially dropped onto my pizza. But this time is worth writing a Rip Off Report about.
This time, The total of my pizza came to almost $20 for a 10 inch small pizza with extra cheese. That is BAD. The store was recently made new and is run by a Rabbi Rabinowitz but whatever, I was hungry. Then, my pizza came all the way to the door. I was relieved that the Delivery Expert did not call me from the lobby out of laziness. He was breathing heavy like he was out of breath. I think it was just some sort of act up for a tip. My unit is right next to the elevator and he was breathing like he had to take the stairs. Dominos now charges. $4 for a delivery fee. Because of that, there would be no tip tonight. Boy, did he look disappointed. Fck him. Let him ask the Rabbi for some of their pizza delivery charge. I opened up the box and the cheese topping had slid all the way off of the pizza to one corner. When I tried to pinch it to pick it up to move it back to the center, I burnt the hell out of my finger. That cheese was hotter than the burning bush of Moses. I suspected that maybe they microwave the pizzas before they take them to deliver them because that is hotter than normally possible, I thought. Anyways, I called the Manager. (See a picture of pizza #1 attached to this story)
I looked on the website and it said that Manager of my store is "Jose". I called up and I asked the person on the other end of the phone, is this Jose? He replied: "Uh, ya". That makes me think that it is not really the Manager, Jode but whatever. I told him what had happened. He said that he will make another one and send me out another pizza. The next pizza came and it was the same way. (See photo #2) Usually there is no mistakes like this and this time there was two in a row?
I just ordered a pizza from Domino's I asked them for an xtra large pizza with cheese and pepperoni. I noticed in the menu they had 4 sizes (which I thought was a little bit weird) the Xtra Lg was listed at $13.99 and 1 topping was an additional $1.90. I picked up the pizza and thought it seemed a little small for an extra large and they rang it up as $18.86. I also thought that was a little high but took it home anyway. When I got home an opened the box I noticed a pool of grease in the center of the pie completely puddling through to the box.
Then I measured the diameter of the pie and it was 15.5 inches (yes, 4 sizes, this is their biggest and its 15.5 inches). I quickly do the math and add up the bill 13.99+1.90+ 6% tax = $16.84. But they charged me $18.86??? I call them up and tell them I have a few questions.
First off I say I just got an xtra lg cheese and pepperoni and they charged me $18.84 why? The Mgr checks my order and says its because I ordered an xtra lg double cheese and pepperoni pizza. Next, I tell him this pizza is inedible. There is a large puddle of grease in the center of the pie. He says ""Bring the pizza back and we will give you a new one. I tell him I don't want to go back out again and he says we will credit your TF# so when I come in the next time it will be there. So lets review:
1. They mess up the order, a simple xtra lg cheese and pepperoni pizza.
2. They cant even make the pie without a large puddle of grease soaked straight through to the box
3. They over charge me $2.02 meaning they cant ring up an order correctly.
4. They want me to bring the pizza back in but eventually credit my phone number.
I will NEVER go back to Domino's again and share what I've learned with whomever will listen.
