Sent a typical fake-invoice style junk mail letter to domain holder. Wording in the letter is intended to trick people into transferring a domain to their registrar at inflated prices ($35-60/year) - at those prices, even a tiny fraction of people who aren't paying attention will make up the cost of mailing these out.
The letter includes very specific wording (generic information about domain expiring, and note halfway down that "This is not a bill"). Always read carefully.
This company is a joke, they charge $60/year for a basic .com domain, and once the original contract expires, they will not allow us to transfer to a new host without paying the contract fee.
