I live in New York but i have a vacation home in Miami and I spend a third of the year there. While in Miami I met Mr. Eric Littman through a friend of mine who had invested with Mr. Littman successfully on several occasions (with small amounts of money). Mr. Littman is a very prepared man and he showed me several charts of investment earnings giving me the illusion my investment would be safe in his hands. I wanted to invest a large sum (50,000$USD) so it wasnt going to be so easy to get me to wire the money into a personal account (as Eric requested). Some time and a few phone calls with Eric later he realized he was going to have to do something different to get my investment.
He arranged a meeting in New York for me to meet some of his investment partners and discuss potential investment for my money. At this meeting I met his son Louis Littman, and his boss, Davidson Kempner Capital Management LLC CFO Richard Dennis Chase.
The meeting was very private yet they were acting like they were keeping something to themselves, they were trying to convince me by saying subtle things like "trust us, look at how much we have made from our investments, we just know things."and, you think you know less then you actually know".
I continued asking questions because they werent very clear about things and then Louis finally said it, "we have insider information that we can use to guarantee profits". They showed me some investigative reports and prediction charts they said were only available to a small group of people which was the obvious reason i could not keep them. To me, I will admit, these claims along with the evidence were very convincing as these were very successful people with important positions and visible extreme wealth. At this point I wired the money directly to Mr. Eric Littmans account and then he delivered me an envelope with all the details of my investment.
I sat on the stocks for over a year only to find out that I was sold unregistered stocks! None of the paperwork was official in any way and since i had not written a contract with Mr. Littman I couldnt claim he represented me wrongly. I am not very good with law or investments and I was simply trying to make some easy money so that is why i didnt realize any of the paperwork was not real. I hired another attorney who helped me realize that it would take more time, effort, and money, then what I would get out of it. I have dropped the case completely and lost over (65,000$USD).
