Dish Internet sucks!!!!!!! I wishi that I would have read the reports on this web site before entering into a 2 year contract. Luckily, I have only 13 more months left on the contract and after that I am gone as a customer. They promise you 20 gigs of broadband service per month which sounds like a good deal for less than $60 per month. They don't tell you that you will more than likely run out of broadband usage before the end of the month and your service will be downgraded to less than dial up speeds. I calculate my daily usage every day at the same time and only use 300-400 mbs per day,
Dish cannot explain to me how my daily usage increases to 1.2 gigs in a day's time at the same time every month thus causing my monthly usage to expire before the end of the month. I think that it is a purposely deceptive bait and switch practice that Dish is using on their customers to entice them to sign up for the service knowing that they will not be able to provide what has been advertised. I think that all Dish Internet customers that are experiencing the same issues should band together to file a class action lawsuit against Dish for deceptive advertising. Dishworld lists a lot of channels for select programming packages from international countries. But they do not mention that they carry only limited programs from these channels.
For example : A Tamil package might be listed with Vijay TV International as one of their channels. People would assume that they get all Vijay TV International programs. But they have only a few hours of programming and not all of what Vijay TV International offers to the US. Also their guide is horrendous, incorrect program listing, incorrect hours etc).Had I known this I would nt have signed for it.
I realized this in 2 days and called them (I spoke to Jessica/Famia/Raymond...over 2 hours with him !/Rhonda). They do not offer refunds because of their pricing policy and terms and conditions. But their terms and conditions are not valid if they dont deliver what they promise in their web site.
(They do offer a free trial for 48 hours but that is not in the main web pages..It is buried inside the Help-FAQ-as an answer to a question. I did not know this and found out only after accessing their help pages for why some programs were not telecast. I had called within 2 days to cancel and request a refund)
The senior customer support manager said "just because we list the channels does not mean you should assume you get all of it". Really ? Then why dont you just print that in the website so people will read it and not sign up if they dont like it. She said she is THE person to talk to and their is no manager I can talk to in the entire company and all I can do i send an email, even then they will not refund and they will just give that as feedback to their corporate. Whats the point of sending the email then..
I was requesting the refund based on the principle that I dont pay for not getting what I was promised. They stubbornly refused to refund or transfer me to a person who can help and cut me off.
I have never experienced such rude customer service and because of this I am going to cancel my Dish network service also (she did say their corporate is Dish network).
Stay away from this company. Scammers. You cannot cancel your service once you give your credit card information. There is no way to delete or change your credit card inormation online. I was asked to give them a call at the end of the service period to cancel the service which I did. But they already billed my credit card and refused to cancel the service and told me to wait for one more month. This has been happening for the last couple of months. You can not contact supervisors or managers - all talking from the same scripts. Please, please stay away and use some other providers.
