Sold my house in Fort Worth, Tx and was really excited to purchase
my retirement home in the Del Webb Active 55+ Living Community.
This whole experience has been a nightmare with the Pulte orgainization!!!! I was shown a Spec home and originally asked
for 15% Earnest money. After I refused they accepted $1,000.00
However, I did not want to use Pulte Mortgage so they asked for an
additional $10,000.00. I made no changes to this house, the only change I made was to change mortgage companies. The finished product of the house was very poor in my opinion. Drawers wouldn't close, kept popping open and I was advised by the Supervisor of Construction that this was normal. The master bathroom door, one side of the frame was OK, the other side looked like they had run out of room and moulded it to the adjoining wall. The supervisors suggestion was to take door out and install a small one. I just couldn't see myself living in this house and paying $300.000, for an unfinished house. After moving in I would have to put out at least another $20,000 to make it livable.
I feel like I have been robbed out of my retirement funds. I was told under no circumstances I would get a refund. Earnest money gone.
I WOULD ADVISE ANYONE LOOKING FOR A PULTE HOME "PLEASE STAY AWAY, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL IN MY OPINION"
