This NATSAP affiliated program is one of many in Prescott AZ that employs shady staff and uses deceptive admission practices. The founder was unable to stay sober ending up in the local news for his ethical behavior. This facility employs deceptive staff that have been tied to one of the biggest rehab racket scandals in the state involving another NATSAP affiliated program. Get all promises documented in writing and avoid over the phone assessments.
During my 4 month stay at this center I never once had a conversation with a LPC, or anyone who was clinically certified. Most of the "primary therapists" don't even posses a bachelor's degree here. As mentioned above, equine therapy, and outdoor "adventure", "family visit", "yoga", etc. etc. Was never made available to me during the entirety of my stay at this center. Though I must say that I am still very much sober, I feel that I could have made strides much more effectively with 1:1 counseling and therapy. You only have 1:1 time once a week here, the majority of which is spent on the phone with your loved ones as they attempt to manipulate them into needing to send you to a "sober-living" facility or "halfway house" that I am sure throws them referrals as well.
My suggestion would be to get IN WRITING, everything that is promised to you, and do not be duped by the age old "we have a waiting list", or "there is A bed available, but I can't tell you for how long." to my knowledge only 5 out of 38 individuals that attended this facility during my stay are still sober. My suggestion would be to seek out a facility with adequately credentialed therapists and licensed service providers. Though the cost my seem like a lot more at some of the places, it is merely because more highly priced facilities are upfront with what the costs are. BEWARE of this place. And best of luck in your journey.
My daughter was a client of this drug rehab center in Prescott, AZ from December 2013 to January 2014. It was complete chaos. In their literature and at intake they described the following types of therapy which were never provided;
1. Equine Therapy - it was not available
2. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) - they only have 1 counsellor who is trained to provide this type of therapy and she was too busy to provide it
3. Outdoor Adventure Therapy - three "adventures" were scheduled during my daugher's stay but 2 were cancelled on the day of the trip
4. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) - it was never provided
This place is understaffed, there is continuous turnover of cousellors and many of the therapy sessions consisted of watching a movie or "journalling". It was bad from top to bottom.
Finally be careful on signing any of their financial paperwork - once they have your credit card charged you will not get a refund - for any reason. They discharged my daughter due to seizures (addicts have those!) because they were too understaffed to deal with the issue. We got no refund.
Do not send your loved one here - they overpromise and don't deliver the therapy as advertised. A true RIP-OFF!
