My best advice to anyone thinking of going to Dean Auto is DON’T DO IT! He took my money without fixing the issue and also caused further damage and refuses to reimburse me. I went to them a few weeks from ago to check my Air Conditioning as it had not been working. It was a 6hr drive to get there as I live in Medicine Hat. I was already planning on going to Edmonton for the day and I had an out of province inspection completed by him several months prior while I was living in Edmonton, so I figured I’d go to him again to check on my AC. While there Dean gave me two options – one costing $50 and the other $150. Naturally, I chose the $50 option. I told him that if he found it would cost more after inspecting it then he should not begin working on it without consulting me of the outcome. However, despite my request they began working on it and told me it would cost $150. After I left I noticed that my windshield washer fluid was not working. Yet, on my way there it had been raining and my car was being splashed with mud, so I used the fluid and wipers to clean it so I knew the issue of it no longer working was caused at their shop. After lifting the hood I saw that the hose that pumps the fluid to the wipers had been torn. I was shocked that they would tear the hose as there would be no reason for that in order to fix the AC. I contacted them to inform them and Dean insisted that I drive back another 6hrs in order for him to inspect it. He then said that even after inspecting it he cannot be sure he caused it and could not guarantee he would fix it. I told him that the gas cost to drive there would be more than the cost of the AC and suggested instead that I send him the photos and have a mechanic near me send him the quote, so that he could reimburse the cost. He then said that I was wasting his time and made anti-Semitic comments before hanging up the phone. I don’t see what my religion has to do with anything and if he had an issue with my religion he should have said that before taking my money. I then called back and was yelled at by one of the young guys that works at his shop and he also hung up on me. A few days later I turned on my AC only to discover that it wasn’t working. So basically they hadn’t even fixed it but took my money!
