Dealer Rater allows unverified reviews to be left on their website. I made a report by phone and they said if we joined them for $300/Month they would remove the review otherwise it will be left for public viewing as it doesnt meet their policy for removal. The review accuses of crimes which have not been filed with any court system and abuse of slander, defamation, libel, etc. Dealer Rater tried to extort us and should not be trusted.
The following review was approved and posted, but then a few minuites later has disappeared from their website. I wonder all those 5 star reviews are they really honest?
ONE STAR REVIEW on DEALERRATER.COM
In 1998 I had a Toyota Supra 1989 serviced there because some Toyota garage poured oil into my car's cooling system! The mechanic owned a similar Supra 1988 and I noticed that he replaced my engine parts with older ones and toomk the newer ones away probabaly for his own car's benefit, I could clearly see that! and after my car was ""finished"" he told me I could drive off, but after i decided to check I found ZERO OIL in the system, zero break liquid, zero windshield washer and zero transmission fluid! No kidding! He, the kind of friendly African-American gentleman set me up for some deep trouble! Gladly I caught that and told him kindly to fill in all fluids! I was very kind and I should have SUED his and Stevenson's butt big time! After writing a formal complaint to Toyota HQ I was totally and absolutely ignored. There was no partial, refund, nothing. Not even a discount coupon. After repeat inquiries - total and utter silence. No apologies were issued, nothing, nada, zero, zilch. No more Toyota for me ever since! AVOID! STAY AWAY! From any Toyota, especially STEVENSON'S TOYOTA in JAX, NC!
I had a horrific experience with Honda of Manhattan and believe they could be the worst dealership in America. Dealerrater.com is littered with positive reviews of them which is unbelievable! I posted a review and it never made it there. 99% of the reviews are positive --- they don't allow negative reviews or obviously remove them. Yelp.com has the real reviews of the dealership. The attorney general should not allow Dealerrater.com to stay on the internet because they are influencing consumers with deception and allowing unscrupulous dealers like Honda of Manhattan to smell like roses while stealing from their customers.
Dealer Rater allowed a fraudulent review on their site and said after review it does not meet policy for removal. They also said they would not provide any details of the investigation. They also said if we joined their site and paid a minimum $300/ Month they would allow us to respond or have it removed. This is extortion.
