Sale's people have lack of training, or perhaps they're trained to deceive the customer. I will NEVER use them again, NEVER. Read your contract and DO NOT take their word on ANYTHING. A very tricky group of people.
Their rep sold us a contract but verbally explained something different, we should've known better because she sounded drunk. Our tank is small, and we don't use much oil, yet according to them they have filled it up with amounts that do not coincide with the size and reading. So, we decided to take before and after pictures. My husband is the only one working, I am sick, so this type of business of taking advantage of customers and ripping them off is VERY upsetting! My desire is to sue them, put them and their practices on the news! I hope people read these before signing up with them!
Most oil companies in the industry have oil contracts. The problem with most people is, they do not read the contracts, they read what they think it says and they get upset when the company stands by what was signed.. Verizon Wireless has contracts and if you cancel , they charge you $350.00 and you will pay it.
People post partial truths, and say they have been scammed, because the customer service rep explained what the contract says. Retail price on any contract means" the company's" retail price ,NOT someone else's price or what is posted on the internet ,.Also most contracts will continue even without you resigning up. again, cell phone and tv cable companies do the same. This is nothing outrageous or unethical, as all companies with contracts would be doing business illegally.
Bottom line, read your contract in full, ask for explanations prior to putting your signature on a contract and don't blame companies for what you feel you think it should be.
It's up to any customer to be responsible for your account, if you don't want to be , then what you get is what you signed for.
What people need to do is stay away from DDLC and not believe everything their reps say! People need to make sure of their tank sizes, take before and after pictures of the reading and see if the delivery amounts make any sense!
DDLC over chargees for oil. I had a contract with them for a fixed price of 3.89 tha ended on 11/30/14. The contract clearly states that "at the end of the contract subsequent deliveries to you willl be charged at the prevailing retail price for home heating oil." They made a delivery on 3/19/15 and charged 3.89 per gallon. There is no way at that time the prevailing rate for oil was that price. No other oil company was selling oil even close to that. I called customer service and spoke with Danielle and was told that was the price of oil at that time. I asked to speak to a manager and was told the same thing They would not budge on that price the best I could get was a $50 credit. DDLC is a total rip off do not use them . They cheat customers and don't even honor the own contract.

My wife and I decided to lock into a oil pricing for 2014/2015 as the last year was over $4.00 a gal for oil.We are in our 50s and are professionally employed. So we signed on with DDLC June 2014, the first delivery of oil was set at 2.99 gal which we filled shortly after sighing on .After that the oil price was set at 3.49.9. The oil tank took alittle over 400 gals to fill so we were happy to be ready for next year heating. Well here we go, in Janerary 2015 a driver came to my home for automactic oil delivery as stated in contract , I was home and spoke with driver and told him our tanks are still full as we were using our wood stove to heat the home and have not turned on furnance. The driver left and in about 2 weeks time we recieve a letter from a collection company that contracted for DDLC ,that stated your account has been terminated and a termination fee of 350.00 dollars payabul to DDLC. I was very upset and could not understand why so i called DDLC and was refred to there collection agency . I spoke with Nancy and explained what i new and she said the driver told DDLC you had canceal your contract. She further went on to say why did they not contact you by phone in regards to your contract , i said yes write to listen to there drive because i did not need oil means i cancealed my contract . So the collect company corrects the mader and i am to believe all is good. I get a second letter in the mail stating from DDLC i need to pay 350.00 plus late fees of 5.25 for balance owed to canceal contract , i am much more upset again so i contact my Lawyer in regards to the trouble i am haveing with my contract with DDLC. I call the collection company again and Nancy tells me we are not collecting money from you as your file has been dropped. So here we go DDLC is collecting money on there owen with out there collection company. I had paid 180.00 for an additional amont to pay for any service to my burner up front , i asked if they could credit to my recent oil delivery and they said no it would be prorated and that amount was 40.00. How is a 180.00 dollars prorated when it is a set fee for service paid in full? I have been given no respect from DDLC and sending my account to collections and i did nothing wrong . I am making sure you all see whats going on and do not contract with DDLC, they are not looking out for ther custermers just there bottom line.
I ordered an oil delivery from DDLC on a recommendation from my friend Jim. His father is a deliver driver for the company so I signed up for auto delivery. I have been a customer since January 2014. I believe to be a good customer as I have a good size house 3500 SQ feet to heat with only oil heat. On January 2nd they delivered 160 gallons of oil. I looked at the bill and noticed DDLC charged $3.50 a gallon. I called Norwich Discount, bumblebee, Benvinuti's and they all were $1.00 a gallon less. I called DDLC and spoke to a woman named, lets say, Jan#$t. She told me that i had a contract that ended on January 15th. Keep in mind the day they delivered was the 2nd; only 13 days until my contract expired. Another fact is that my tank holds over 300 gallons; over 1/2 a tank left. They delivered 150 gallons, charged me $3.50 and the woman acted like I was the crazy one. She kept stating that I have a contract price. I didn't know I was on a fixed price. There was no penalty if i wanted to end the contract either. They took advantage of me. Filled when they didn't have to just to make a extra buck before they contract was over. Stay away from DDLC.
